WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 11 MAR 2021


On 9 Mar 2021 Deputy Kehl was dispatched to 185 Rummer Street, Lowell, OH, to a report that Tavion Rummer had been assaulted by his uncle, David Rummer. David left the area after the call to emergency services. Tavion stated the incident occurred in an outbuilding which he was cleaning.  David approached the outbuilding and became angry over a chainsaw.  David placed the chainsaw back down and stepped towards Tavion in an aggressive manner, taking both of his hands and “jolted” him backwards by the neck. David proceeded to drive him backwards and over a bench, still grabbing him by the neck and driving him to the ground, landing on his back. David was contacted via cell phone and was unwilling to meet with Deputy Kehl.  David denied the altercation, stating it was only verbal.  A warrant is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for David Allen Rummer, age 57, 65581 Sundew Road, Lore City, OH, on a charge of domestic violence.      

On 9 Mar 2021 Sgt. Carr responded to the Aldeco Motel located at 1200 Park Avenue, New Matamoras, OH, in reference to a suspicious male possibly intoxicated or under the influence, hanging out around the office. A male subject was located, identified as Brennan O’Malley.  O’Malley appeared to be somewhat disoriented.  An active warrant was on file therefore O’Malley was placed under arrest on the warrant.  O’Malley was advised  his property would be searched and in doing so located 2 packages containing ten (10) unused syringes.  O’Malley was asked what they were used for and he stated he had used heroin three (3) days ago. A pat down of O’Malley did not revealed any further items.  Brenna M O’Malley, age 27, 101 Evans Street, New Matamoras, OH, was placed under arrest on the warrant and charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.  O’Malley was transported to the Washington County Jail.  Once at the jail another pat down was conducted locating a syringe.

On 9 Mar 2021 Deputy Gainer along with numerous volunteer fire departments responded to Robert Kelly Road to a brush fire. 

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail between Tuesday 9 Mar 2021 and Thursday 11 Mar 2021:

Patrick Lee Gruber, II, age 38, Parkersburg, WV, tampering with evidence, a felony.

Jaced Lee Jeffries,  age 20, parole violation, a felony.

Christin Elizabeth Douglas, age 26, Marietta, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Jesse Lee Barnhart, age 46, New Matamoras, OH, gross sexual imposition, a felony.

Velinda Bernice Berga, age 22, New Matamoras, OH, contempt of court, a felony.

Jaquan Pierre Isom, age 30, Akron, OH, possessing criminal tools, having weapons while under disability, under indictment or convicted felony, a felony.

There  are currently 13 female inmates and 60 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
