On 12 Jan 2021 Lt. Hornbeck began an investigation into a vehicle being entered and a laptop and handgun being stolen.  This case remains under investigation.

On 14 Jan 2021 Deputy Gainer completed a crash report where Paul Reginald, Lauderhill, FL, was travelling on Warren Chapel Road and became stuck in a corn field.

On 15 January 2021 Lt. McPeek was dispatched to 248 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, OH, to a report of two male subjects shoving Steve Baughman out of his house and threatening him.  Baughman had locked himself in his vehicle and the two males were beating on his vehicle.  Lt. McPeek met with all three subjects. The two males were Baughman’s stepson, Raymond Richards IV, and a friend of Richards, Evan Gaskins.  Richards stated Baughman had stolen the license plates off of his vehicle and he and Gaskins came to the home to retrieve them.  Richards stated Baughman told him they were in his vehicle so they followed him to his vehicle, where he locked himself inside and called the Sheriff’s Office.  Gaskins was asked why he was there and he stated he was friends with Richards and he gave him a ride.  Gaskins stated he went inside with Richards and asked for the license plate, with Baughman asking how they got inside the residence, and arguing with them.  After conducting the investigation it was determined that Raymond Rolley Richards, IV, age 20, 2500 Cleveland Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, and Evan Michael Gaskins, age 22,  1609 Hill Street, Apt. 4, Belpre, OH, would be summoned into Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of disorderly conduct. 

On 15 January 2021 at approximately 2322 hours deputies were dispatched to 205 3rd Street, Lot 5, Beverly, OH, to a report of the neighbors  arguing.  A male was observed outside a mobile home attempting to kick the door open.  Deputies met with Samantha Brooks, who advised she was there alone and the neighbor must have heard her hammering a nail into the wall.   When asked about Nathan Davis, Brooks said he was in Cleveland.  Deputies met with the complainant who confirmed Brooks and Davis were arguing, as well as describing what Davis was wearing.  Deputies patrolled the area and located Davis walking behind the Beverly Citizens Bank, matching the witnesses description.  Davis confirmed he was just in a verbal argument with Brooks and left before it escalated.  Nathan Lee Davis, age 37,was arrested on outstanding warrants.  Davis advised he had a “rig” in his pocked that he had just found in an alley.  Davis was also charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.  Brooks continued advising deputies that Davis was not there, eventually changing her story, stating he was there the day before.  Samantha Brooks, age 38, was charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct.

There  are currently 17 female inmates and 81 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
