On 11 Dec 2020 Lt. McPeek filed charges of breaking and entering on Ryan M. Efaw, age, 180 Main Street, Vincent, OH, a current inmate at the Washington County Jail.
On 19 Jun 2020 deputies were dispatched to Whipkey Drive, Waterford Township to a report of breaking and entering’s around June 6 and June 7. Two cabins in the area were both entered and several items, to include antiques, knives and miscellaneous items, were stolen. Between June 12 and June 16 the cabins were entered again and the Sheriff’s Office was advised on June 19. At that time an electric scooter and curtains were stolen. Evidence was obtained at the scene and a preliminary association was found between the DNA of Efaw by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office CODIS. DNA was also confirmed belonging to an unknown female.
On 3 Dec 2020 Efaw was arrested on an outstanding warrant. On 6 Dec 2020 Efaw was interviewed at the jail and denied any knowledge or involvement.
On 10 Dec 2020 Efaw’s girlfriend met with deputies and initially lied about any involvement, however eventually confessed, stating her DNA would probably be found in the house. When asked what had occurred, Ashana Long stated that Efaw was a “very good convincer”. Charges were filed on Ashana Long and she was arrested for the breaking and entering.

Ashana Dawn Long, age 28, 180 Main Street, Vincent, OH,  breaking and entering, a felony.

Dakota Ryan Waite, age 29, 1045 Sandhill Road, Marietta, OH, domestic violence, driving under suspension, no seatbelt and improper lane usage, all misdemeanors.

Ryan Cayce Beardsley, age 27, 1107 Cisler Lane, Marietta, OH,  possession of drugs, a felony.

There are currently 18 female inmates and 76 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
