On 23 Nov 2020 Lt. Hunter began an investigation regarding animals running at large in the Whipple area.  This case remains under investigation.

On 24 Nov 2020 Deputy Peters began an investigation into an attempted theft of a catalytic converter.  This case remains under investigation.

On 24 Nov 2020 Sgt. McKee began an investigation into a financial scam. This case remains under investigation.

On 24 Nov 2020 Deputy Aultman was dispatched to 909 Pike Street, Marietta, OH, to a caller stating someone attempted to pull them over.  The subjects were in a parking lot in the area of River City Tire when a vehicle pulled in behind them and sat there for approximately four to five minutes.  The subject exited the vehicle and walked up to the car’s side window stating he was a cop and asked for a cigarette.  The caller stated he rolled up his window and left the parking lot.  The subject pulled out behind the caller and followed them to the area of Family Ford.  Deputy Aultman made contact with the suspect vehicle driver, Jared Michael Wells, who attempted to exit the vehicle, before being ordered back in the vehicle.  A strong odor of alcohol was detected along with a 24 oz. beer observed in the cup holder.  Wells stated he had consumed four 24 oz. Ice House beers.  Wells, age 26, 117 Stadium Drive, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.  Wells tested .233 BAC.

On 25 Nov 2020 Sgt. Parks responded to 11561 State Route 60, Lowell, OH, to a report of a camping trailer being entered on the property, as well as a camper being stolen.  This case remains under investigation.

On 26 Nov 2020 Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 29860 State Route 7, to a report that Charity Thompson had some questions about an incident between her and her husband, Tanner Thompson.  The two had been separated and Tanner came to the home to pick up the children and spend time with them.  Tanner and Charity began to argue and he grabbed her wrist and head butted her.  Charity also blocked Tanner from leaving with the children.  Tanner gave the same account of the events, stating that Charity obtained the bruise after she pushed him against the wall.  A summons is being requested for Charity Rae Thompson, age 24, and Tanner Thompson, age 26, 485 Sandhill Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

On 26 Nov 2020 Lt. McPeek was dispatched to 519 Ingram Road, Newport, in response to Jessica Stevens reporting James D Rhodes assaulted her. Stevens advised their two pit bulls got into a fight and she was bitten at least twice trying to break them up.  Stevens stated that Rhodes threatened to put one of the dogs down which led to an argument, and he repeatedly slapped her.  Stevens stated Rhodes busted her lip, punched her in the nose, and put four or five bumps on the back of her head.  Stevens stated she did not hit Rhodes.  James Rhodes stated they argued over the dogs fighting but he did not assault Stevens, nor did she assault him.  Rhodes stated Stevens’ injuries were all caused during the struggle with the dogs.  James Dennis Rhodes, age 45, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.    

On 27 Nov 2020 at approximately 0119 hours Deputy Young and Sgt. Park were dispatched to a residence on State Route 7, Marietta, OH, to a report of Christopher F. Rounsley being drunk and leaving the residence.  Deputies met with Rounsley, who was back in the residence, advising he was trying to go to the bathroom.  Rounsley was allowed to stay at the home as long as he did not cause any further problems. Rounsley agreed to go to sleep until he sobered up.  At approximately 0250 hours another call was made to the Sheriff’s Office stating Rounsley had left the residence, and walked towards the roadway.  Deputies responded once again and located Rounsley walking on State Route 7.  Christopher Franklin Rounsley, age 42, 445 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, OH,  was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct.

On 27 Nov 2020  Deputy Gainer was dispatched to the area of Bender Road, Warren Township, to a report of Amanda Wallace and a male subject  walking toward the intersection. Dispatch advised both had active warrants for their arrest. Deputy Gainer met with Wallace, who first told her name to be Felicia.  Deputy Gainer was familiar with Amanda Wallace from her incarceration(s) in the Washington County Jail previously. 
Once the identity of the female was confirmed, Deputy Gainer advised there was a warrant for her arrest, at which time she attempted to run.  During a post-arrest search of Wallace,  a small clear plastic bag was located in her pocket which contained an unknown white powder, along with 2 capped syringes, and a glass smoking pipe in her backpack.   Wallace told Deputy Gainer previously that she had swallowed the bag of fentanyl.  Wallace stated she had several different medical issues at which time a squad was summoned to give aid to Wallace.  Wallace was then transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of two counts of obstructing official business, aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

William Dakota Hogan, age 21, 508 Seventh Street, Marietta, OH,  2 counts loose dog, misdemeanors.

Justin Dean Shutts, age 29, homeless,  disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

James Dennis Rhodes, age 45, 519 Ingram Road, Newport, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor,  and domestic violence, a felony.

Christopher Franklin Rounsley, age 42, 445 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, OH,  disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

Amanda Asia Wallace, age 26, 180 Main Street, Vincent, OH,  probation violation, possession of fentanyl, both felonies, 2 counts obstructing official business, possession of drug abuse instruments and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors.

Patricia Jo Berg, age 33, 412 Florence Street Unit B, Belpre, OH,  criminal damaging, 3 counts, and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.

Deane Alan Curtis, age 58, 304 Aurora Street, Marietta, OH,  domestic violence, a felony and having physical control of vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Fawn Nicole Webb, age 38, 45535 Schoolhouse Lane, Apt. A, Fly, OH,, theft, a misdemeanor.

Kiah Marshae Morgan, age 27, 2202 Hill Street, Apt. D, Belpre, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

William David Richards, age 31, 101 Theiss Avenue, Apt. 6, Marietta, OH,  no operator’s license and stop light violation, both misdemeanors.

Andrea Nicole Beaver, age 34, 1080 Walsh Road, Vincent, OH, contempt of court.

Joseph David Cody, age 32, 128 Hall Road, Vincent, OH,  probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Nichole Katherine Touville, age 30, homeless,  theft of a motor vehicle, a felony.

David Wayne Floyd, age 49, 2800 ½ Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, WV,  2 counts OVI alcohol, drug of abuse or both, probation violation, contempt of court, no seatbelt, driving under OVI suspension, and driving under the influence of alcohol;/drugs >.10% all misdemeanors.

There are currently 18 female inmates and 75 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
