On 11 Nov 2020 Deputy Kehl began an investigation into a scam. This case remains under investigation.
On 11 Nov 2020 Deputies Crum and Kehl were dispatched to 4170 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, OH, to a 911 hang-up, with no answer on callback. Dispatch was able to hear a female state “no, no stop it!”. Deputy Kehl met with Clarence Francis, while Deputy Crum patrolled for Courtney Clayton. Clayton was located, stating her and Francis were in a verbal argument. After conducting the investigation both Clarence Michael Francis, age 31, and Courtney Nichole Clayton, age 28, were placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 11 Nov 2020 Deputy Crum met with Abra Brown, 70 Hanover Road, Cutler, OH, in reference to a burglary complaint. This case remains under investigation.
On 12 Nov 2020 Deputy Hill met with James Lucas, State Route 555, Cutler, OH, in reference to a burglary.
On 13 Nov 2020 Deputy Aultman met with Gary Ellis, 225 S 7th Street, Marietta, OH, in reference to a stolen Jeep. The Jeep was located by OSP wrecked. This case remains under investigation.
On 14 Nov 2020 Deputy Gainer and Sgt. McKee began an investigation at the Marietta Silos and Ashland Campground, Marietta, OH, regarding breaking and entering complaints. This case remains under investigation.
On 15 Nov 2020 it was reported to Sgt. McKee that a male subject stopped at a residence on State Route 7, Marietta, OH, and stole a red gas can. The suspect vehicle was located at Bridgeport and contact was made with Anthony Charles Smith who admitted to stealing the can as he was low on gas. A summons is being requested for Smith, age 35, 1219 14th Street, Parkersburg, WV, on a theft charge. The can was recovered.
On 15 Nov 2020 Deputy Painter met with Marli Williams in reference to a storage building on Clifton Road being broken into. This case remains under investigation.
On 16 Nov 2020 Deputy Kehl began an investigation into a financial scam utilizing Amazon. This case remains under investigation.
On 16 Nov 2020 Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 243 Wingrove Drive, Little Hocking, OH, along with other officers due to a 911 hang up. Dispatchers advised a female was heard stating “don’t touch me” before the line disconnected. Robert Wingrove advised Deputies that Tara Jenkins was at the home alone. Tara Renee Jenkins was located and a smoking pipe was observed in a tan, cloth purse, which Tara admitted was hers. Tara advised there should be another smoking pipe in this same purse along with a skull containing methamphetamine. A search of the purse revealed three glass smoking pipes and a white rubber container with methamphetamine. Jenkins, age 42, was arrested and charged with drug possession and possession of drug instruments. A summons is being requested for Robert Scott Wingrove, age 56, for obstructing official business.
On 16 Nov 2020 Sgt. Parks was dispatched to 230 Oxbow Lane, New Matamoras, OH, to complete a welfare check on Oscar A. Zehendner. Multiple attempts to make contact with Zehendner via phone were unsuccessful. Contact was made at the residence where he confirmed making comments on the phone while “racking a gun”. After completing the investigation a charge of disorderly conduct was filed on Zehendner, age 65.
On 16 Nov 2020 Deputy Young was dispatched to 489 Sandhill Road, Marietta, OH, to a report of Larry Boice and Derek Boice being in a physical altercation. Larry stated he was in a verbal argument with Derek and Derek knocked his glasses off of his face so he pushed him backwards to get him to go downstairs. Derek then punched Larry in the face. After completing the investigation Derek Eugene Boice, age 33, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.
On 16 Nov 2020 Deputy Young began an investigation into a scam. This case remains under investigation.
There are currently 20 female inmates and 83 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
