WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 13 OCT 2020


On 7 Oct  2020 Deputy Gainer was dispatched to 4727 State Route 60, Marietta, OH, regarding a medical chart being stolen by Stacy Bennett.  Personnel confirmed that Bennett arrived at the office and was acting belligerent, making inappropriate comments towards the staff and other individuals located in the office. Bennett was put in a room and was able to remove his medical records and leave the office. Contact was attempted with Bennett, however he was unable to be contacted.  A warrant is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Stacy Adam Bennett, age 54, 270 McCormick Hill Road, New Matamoras, OH, on a charge of illegal processing of drug documents and theft.  

On 8 Oct 2020 Deputy Painter was dispatched to 343 Barrett South Road, Vincent, OH, where Jacqueline White reported having found her stolen vehicle at the address.  White stated a report was filed with Meigs County where the theft took place, and she also identified Matthew J. Queen as being the person who had her vehicle.  Deputy Painter met with Queen and he admitted to taking the car but stated it was bought for him by White.  Matthew John Queen, age 34, was placed under arrest and charged with receiving stolen property.  Queen was processed into the Washington County Jail.                

On 8 Oct 2020 Deputy Peters began an investigation into a burglary of a vacant home.  This case remains under investigation. 

On 8 Oct 2020 Deputy Aultman met with Daniel Hedges, Marietta, OH, in reference to a stolen check.  This case remains under investigation.

On 8 Oct 2020 Deputy Aultman began an investigation into an assault.  The victim refused to have the suspect prosecuted.  Case closed.

On 9 Oct 2020 Sgt Parks was dispatched to State Route 60, Lowell, OH, to a report of someone shooting into the river and rounds ricocheting over State Route 60.  Sgt. Parks responded to the address on Muskingum River Road where Joseph Fielder met with her.  Fielder denied being the subject that was shooting, or shooting guns on the evening in question.  Contact with witnesses was made and it was confirmed that Fielder was shooting into the river this date.  Fielder then admitted to shooting a .45 cal. rifle into the river and that he had lied to Sgt. Parks.  Joseph Andrew Fielder, age 41, 6380 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with obstructing official business, and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 9 Oct 2020 Deputy Crum began an investigation in Barlow Township in reference to a possible domestic violence incident.  In speaking with all parties this was determined to be unfounded.  Case closed.

On 10 Oct 2020 Sgt. Parks began an investigation into a stolen wallet.  The subject located his wallet and this case will be closed unfounded. 

On 11 Oct 2020 Deputy Crum was dispatched to Little Hocking, OH, to a suspicious person in the area.  It was reported the suspicious person had been there approximately an hour and appeared to be under the influence of something.  The subject had then left prior to Deputy Crum arriving.  The vehicle in question was observed by Deputy Crum in the parking lot with the door open and no one around.  The male subject was located coming from behind a business and he began approaching his vehicle.  The male, later identified as David Persons, was told to step away from his vehicle and provide his license and meet with law enforcement.  Persons stated he went to urinate behind the store and again attempted to enter his vehicle.  Persons denied having driven the vehicle and was uncooperative with Deputy Crum after he was advised he was being detained.  Persons was advised several times before he complied and was placed in handcuffs.  Upon patting Persons down, he threw himself onto the ground.  Persons refused to get up, stating his leg was broken.  While deputies attempted to get Persons to his feet he rolled into a ball.  Persons continued to roll around and conceal his pocket from  law enforcement and EMT personnel.   A small baggie of white crystal substance was located in Persons’ pocket along with a knife.  Persons was transported for medical treatment and once released and an arrest was attempted Persons became limp and flopped off of the bed.  Persons attempted to head butt and bite Deputy Crum at that time.  David Michael Persons, age 58, 482 Grand Street, Coolville, OH,  was placed under arrest and charged with tampering with evidence, assault of a police officer, possession of drugs, and resisting arrest. Persons was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Alexander Thomas Trefz age 32, 1393 N Dry Run Road, Williamstown, WV,  failure to comply, obstructing official business, drug paraphernalia, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drugs, disorderly conduct, OVI, speed and no seat belt, all misdemeanors.

Jennifer Victoria Sample, age 26, homeless, theft without consent, theft of a firearm, escape, identity fraud, all felonies, and breach of recognizance, a misdemeanor.

Jessica Rolande Delva, age 27, 1950 SW 69th Avenue, Apt. 101, Pembroke Pines, FL, 2 counts identity fraud, 2 counts telecommunications fraud, 2 counts unauthorized use of property, and 2 counts attempted theft, all felonies.

Dedrick Thomas Jordan, age 30, 3250 NW 17th Street, Fort Lauderhill, FL, 2 counts identity fraud, 2 counts telecommunications fraud, 2 counts unauthorized use of property, and 2 counts  theft, all felonies.

Michael Anthony Bowman, age 36, 229 Franklin Street, Marietta, OH, failure to display plates, providing false information to peace officer and driving under suspension.

Jordan Levi Walker, age 30, 1350 Mt. Tom Road, Marietta, OH,  driving under OVI suspension, possessing drug abuse instruments, DUS and contempt of court, all misdemeanors.

Joseph Andrew Fielder, age 41, 6380 Muskingum River Road, Lowell, OH,  obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.

Crystal Lynn Tate, age 29, 2111 Green Runs Road, St. Mary’s, WV, probation violation and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors.

Matthew Lester Jones, age 36, 806 Front Street, Marietta, OH,  breach of recognizance, escape, possessing deadly weapons while under detention, attempted robbery, all felonies,  and obstructing official business, a misdemeanor.

David Michael Persons, age 58, 482 Grand Street, Coolville, OH,  tampering with evidence, assault of a police officer, possession of drugs, all felonies, and resisting arrest, a misdemeanors.

Jon Alan Malster, age 60, 2211 Pride Avenue, Belpre, OH,  domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

Cody Dale Smarr, age 27, 1002 Washington Blvd., Belpre, OH,  probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Andrew Fredrick Hinton, age 42, 1029 Barth Road, Belpre, OH,  theft, breach of recognizance and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.

Shoshawna Marie Lowers, age 35, 970 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, OH,  parole violation.
