On 27 Sep 2020 Sgt. Parks began an investigation into a stolen catalytic converter from the Aurelius Township area.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Sep 2020 Deputy McConnell began an investigation into  stolen catalytic converter(s) from the Wesley Township area.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Sep 2020 Deputy Kehl began an investigation into stolen township road signs.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Sep 2020 Deputy Painter issued a citation to Justin M. Ball, 604 Buckeye Street, Parkersburg, WV, for driving on an expired license.

On 1 Oct 2020 Deputy Kehl began an investigation in Devola where storage buildings had been entered. This case remains under investigation.

On 1 Oct 2020 Deputy McConnell met with Donnie Osborne, Congress Road, Belpre, regarding a theft.  This case remains under investigation.

On 1 Oct 2020 Lt. Hornbeck responded to 1928 Gandee Street. Belpre. OH, to a suspicious male entering onto the property, upon the porch and possibly looking through a window. The male then exited the porch where he was observed looking at a bicycle.  Lt. Hornbeck searched the immediate area after watching a video showing the suspicious male.  The male was located in the area of Hardees. The male became somewhat evasive, walking to the street as if to cross, once he was approached.  The male was stopped and asked for identification, which he denied having any.  The male provided his name as David Chaney and his DOB and SSN. When asked about entering onto the property on Gandee Street, he advised he was looking for a bike to buy, to get back to Parkersburg faster. He was adamant he wanted to buy a bike. The male was observed with a sunglasses case on a lanyard around his neck, as well as the “bubble” end of a glass smoking pipe in the case.  When asked what the pipe was for he advised it wasn’t anything.  The pipe was removed and was identified as a methamphetamine smoking pipe. David Elwood Chaney, age 42, 3211 Elm Street, Parkersburg, WV, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of drugs.  Chaney was transported to the Washington County jail for processing.

On 1 Oct 2020 Deputy Young began an investigation into multiple catalytic converters being removed from vehicles.  This case remains under investigation

On 1 Oct 2020 Sgt. Parks began an investigation in reference to a cabin being entered and items taken.  This case remains under investigation.

On 3 Oct 2020 Deputy Brown responded to Washington County Children Services 204 Davis Avenue, Marietta, OH. Deputy Brown was advised that during the time frame of September 22, 2020 through October 1, 2020 Sheena Keys called their office twenty-eight (28) times.  On 1 Oct 2020 she spoke with two individuals in reference to another employee.   On three different occasions during these phone calls she stated, “I will ram my fist down her ******  ******* throat and that is a promise.” During these phone calls Keys  was very belligerent and cursing at staff members.    A warrant has been requested and received for Sheena Lynn Keys, age 30, 1595 Mount Tom Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of aggravated menacing. 

On 2 Oct 2020 Deputy Aultman met with Aaron Anderson, 885 Warrior Drive, Vincent, OH, regarding a theft at his residence.  Items to include weed eater, chainsaw, drill, and assorted tools were removed.  This case remains under investigation.

On 3 Oct 2020 Sgt. McKee took a report regarding trash and furniture being dumped in the 19000 block of State Route 676.  A search of the debris revealed  an address of 101 W. Montgomery Street, Marietta, OH.  Contact was made with Chase West and he admitted to dumping the items.  A summons is being requested for Chase Dominick West, age 25, 101 W. Montgomery Street, Marietta, OH, for criminal trespassing and littering. 

On 3 Oct 2020 Deputy Peters met with Leetha Harvey in reference to Aaron Harvey violating a protection order.  Aaron Joseph Harvey, age 34, 8655 State Route 144, Stewart, OH, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following subject(s) were processed into the Washington County Jail between Thursday 1 Oct 2020 and Monday 5 Oct 2020:

David Elwood Chaney, age 42, 3211 Elm Street, Parkersburg, WV,  possession of drugs, a felony.

There are currently 25 female inmates and 68 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
