The Washington County Sheriff’s Office urges everyone to have a safe holiday. We urge all motorists to remember these simple driving tips for your Independence Day weekend:

• Watch your speed;
• Do not follow the car in front too closely;
• Do not drink and drive;
• Do not text and drive;
• Wear your seatbelt;
• Know your destination;
• Do not drive when you are tired;
• Avoid distractions from other passengers; and,
• If you have a designated driver, make sure he or she can be trusted to get you home.

Remember to have a safe Fourth of July!
