Low Flying Plane

The Ohio Department of Agriculture advised they will be in Washington County on Saturday June 20th, 2020 spraying for gypsy moths. They will be spraying in the area of Fleming, along State Route 550, Warren Township near Silver Globe Rd and Lowell near Sparling Rd. The Department of Agriculture advised the plane spraying is yellow with a blue stripe down the middle. The plane is a crop duster that flies at treetop level. This is necessary because the
insecticide is designed to be applied to the tree leaves as a very fine mist. The spray is turned off when the pilot is negotiating turns and there is no danger to people or pets. Due to the plane flying low and sharp turns made to cover a specific location, the plane is often described as “acrobatic”.
