2020 National Peace Officers Memorial Day

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.

Although the crisis that our nation and the world is currently facing has resulted in the cancellation of public gatherings in Washington, DC, during National Police Week 2020, we want to honor, remember, and celebrate American Law Enforcement. We honor the fallen heroes being memorialized on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

We would like to say a special thank you to the men and women of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office as well as all all law enforcement officers who serve our communities.
