On 9 Apr 2020 Deputy Peters, along with numerous other Deputies, responded to State Route 7, Marietta, OH, to a Courtney Parsons reporting Jewels Best and Gage Howell, yelling and fighting.  Deputies were advised that this is an ongoing issue between the two and that they live together at the residence.  Howell stated that Best left his car window down and it got wet inside due to the rain.  He further stated that they argued and Best grabbed him by his arms, and Howell bear-hugged Best which caused them both to fall.  Both gave similar accounts of what had occurred.  Jewels Lynn Best, age 21, and Gage O’Ryan Howell, age 23, are both being charged with disorderly conduct by fighting. 

On 13 Apr 2020 Deputy Hall began an investigation into a camping trailer in Wesley Township being broken into and items were taken.  This case remains under investigation.

On 17 Apr 2020 Deputy Hill was working at the Washington County Jail when he received a warrant for the arrest of Patrick L. Wilson, for obtaining money, property, and services by false pretenses (theft of services).  Deputy Hill compared the information on the warrant with the information given by Wilson when he was processed into the Washington County Jail, finding them to be a match.  Patrick Louis Wilson, age 29, 19 5th Street, Malta, OH, was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

On 18 Apr 2020 at approximately 0031hrs. Deputy Kehl was dispatched to 388 Main Street, Aurelius Township to a report of a verbal argument at the residence.  Deputy Kehl observed Michelle Williams holding an ice pack to her left eye, with her stating her father and brother, Glen Williams Jr. and Glen Williams Sr., were engaged in a physical altercation.  Michelle advised she stepped between the two in an attempt to break them.  Glen Jr. and Glen Sr. both confirmed Michelle’s statement.  Glen Owen Williams Jr., age 18, and Glen Owen Williams Sr. age 45, are both being summoned into court for disorderly conduct by fighting.

On 17 Apr 2020 Sgt. Reeder began an investigation in Salem Township regarding gas line(s) being removed from the property.  This case remains under investigation.

On 18 Apr 2020 Sgt. Reeder began an investigation into identity theft.  This case remains under investigation.

On 19 Apr 2020 Lt. Hunter and Sgt. Reeder were dispatched to 3979 Stanleyville Road, regarding an incident of domestic violence.  Robin Walker reports being the victim of domestic violence and fled the residence.  Robin Walker and James Walker were both interviewed and denied anything occurred other than them tearing up the residence.  After completion of the investigation, it was determined that James would be placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence.  James Kevin Walker, age 58, was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 19 Apr 2020 Deputy Peters and Deputy Allender were dispatched to Muskingum River Road, Marietta, OH, to a report of a possible overdose.  Numerous Deputies along with the Oak Grove and Devola Volunteer Fire Department Squads also responded.  Deputies made contact with Terry Fox, who continued to struggle with responding units, who were administering numerous doses of Narcan.  Fox eventually regained consciousness.  After the struggle, Fox was prepared for transport to a medical facility.  A search of the residence revealed 2 firearms, suspected methamphetamine, and unused hypodermic syringes. Terry Brian Fox, age 45, 312 Walnut Street, Belpre, OH, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and inducing panic.  Fox was transported for medical treatment and eventually processed into the Washington County Jail where he remained uncooperative with Deputies.

Mark Hartley Jr., age 42, 1218 Williamson Avenue, Apt. 46B, New Matamoras, OH, identity fraud, a felony, and obstructing justice, a misdemeanor.

Bradly Allen Gordon, age 33, 126 Westview Drive, Barnesville, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Melanie Ann Blake, age 45, 29 Benton Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, theft of a motor vehicle and breaking and entering, both felonies.

Caitlin Renee Alyssa Keely Ruble, age 24, 1910 State Route 550, Cutler, OH, probation violation, a felony.

Shamen Rayne Thomas, age 19, 2715 Danas Run Road, Newport, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

Terry Brian Fox, age 45, 312 Walnut Street, Belpre, OH, parole violation, a felony, inducing panic and possession of drug abuse instruments, both misdemeanors.

James Kevin Walker, age 58, 3979 Stanleyville Road, Whipple, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

Justin Lee Dillon, age 30, 26500 Main Street, Coolville, OH, violation of a protection order and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors.

James Nemo Lee Croston, age 42, 300 Buckeye Ridge Road, Chesterhill, OH, contempt of court and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors.

There are currently 12 female inmates and 54 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
