WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 13 APR 2020

On 12 Apr 2020 Sgt. Carr began an investigation into damage done to several headstones at the Paw Paw Creek Church cemetery, Germantown Road.  This case remains under investigation.

On 13 Apr 2020 Lt. Hunter, along with Deputy Hall, and Belpre Police Officers, responded to the 1100 block of Braun Road, Belpre Township to a possible burglary in progress.  Information was received that an unknown male had possibly forced his way into a residence on Braun Road.  Further investigation revealed this information to be untrue, however, several 911 calls were received about a suspicious acting and suspicious-looking male going door-to-door in the area attempting to find someone for reasons unknown.  Richard T. Kyle was eventually located, matching the description given by individuals.  He initially stated his correct name but provided a date of birth of 2-13-85, as well as a social security number which was off one digit.  Kyle confessed to providing wrong dates of birth and social security numbers because he said it was cold and he couldn’t remember what they were. On Sunday, 12 Apr 2020, Belpre Police had received similar reports of this strange activity and were looking for Richard Kyle.  The subject speaking with deputies and the Richard Kyle subject was found to be the same individual.  Kyle was also found to have several active warrants for his arrest, thus why he was providing false information to deputies and officers.  Richard Thomas Kyle, age 34, 151 E. Hubert Avenue, Lancaster, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with violations prohibited and obstructing official business.  Kyle was transported to the Washington County Jail.
