On 19 Jan 2020, Deputy Young began an investigation in Newport, Ohio, in reference to a stolen walnut tree.  On 22 Jan 2020, Deputy Young met with Jason Strickler in reference to items located on his property. The logs were suspected of being stolen in a current investigation.  Strickler would not advise who the logs and trailer belonged to, however, he stated they had been on his property since December 26, 2019.  On 23 Jan 2020 the logs and trailer were no longer on Strickler’s property.  Strickler stated he spoke with the person they belonged to and they must have come and got them, stating he didn’t know his name.  Deputy Young learned that the items had just been there for five days.  Jason Lee Strickler, age 41,  765 Danas Run Road, Newport, OH, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of obstructing justice. 

On 20 Jan 2020, Deputy Aultman responded to the Pit Stop, State Route 821, Marietta, OH, in reference to a theft of cash.  This case remains under investigation.
