On 4 Aug 19 Deputy Young met with Deonta Dotson, 1366 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, OH, regarding a lost/stolen license plate.  This case remains under investigation.

On 4 Aug 19 Deputy Brown responded to the Marietta Soccer Fields, River Road, Marietta, OH, to a report of subject(s)  doing damage to the parking lot.  This case remains under investigation.

On 4 Aug 19 Deputy J McConnell met with Deborah Cain, 107 Race Street, Marietta, OH, regarding items taken from her home.  This case remains under investigation.

On 5 Aug19 Deputy White was dispatched to 1756 Barth Road, Belpre, Ohio, to a domestic dispute incident.  Beth Moyers stated her brother, Paul Christopher,  was acting belligerent, due to his firearms being removed from the residence by the Sheriff’s Office.  Christopher advised Deputy White that he was yelling at his parents because they had his firearms removed from the home, and believed Moyers was turning his parents against him.   Deputy White met with the parents and Moyers, who stated Christopher was yelling and screaming at them for having his firearms removed from the home, stating “I’m done with you, I’ll blow all your heads off”.  All three individuals stated they were in fear for their safety.  Deputy White again met with Christopher, who denied saying he was going to kill anyone, but believed his family would say that about him. Paul Kenneth Christopher, age 49, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.  While being transported,  Christopher continued making comments about causing harm to the victim(s).

On 7 Aug 19 at approximately 0219 hours, Deputy Schwendeman responded to the Beverly Par Mar, 100 Fifth Street, Beverly, Ohio, in reference to a male subject stealing a 24-pack case of Bud Light beer, then fleeing the store.  Video footage was viewed, showing a male subject pick up a case of beer, then walk toward the exit and run out the door toward a van.  A van matching the description of the suspect vehicle was located approximately 30 minutes later.  The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office had stopped by vehicle for various traffic offenses. The driver, identified as Samuel M. Swift, was wearing clothes matching the description given and had the same physical description as the suspect in the video.  Deputy Schwendeman spoke with Swift about the incident, while he was detained by Morgan County Deputies. Swift agreed to speak with Deputy Schwendeman and admitted to taking the beer from the store. The beer was not located in the van, and Swift stated he threw it out the window somewhere in Morgan County.  Samuel Morris Swift, age 38, 5070 Joseph Street, Hastings, FL, was placed under arrest for theft and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

Matthew Vernon Scott, age 33, 101 Ingleside Avenue, Marietta, OH, permitting drug abuse and possession of heroin, both felonies.

Dlontae Buster Tolbert, age 28, homeless, trafficking heroin, a felony.

Alex Jacks Handschumacher, age 41, 113 Dayton Road, Marietta, OH, arrested for possession of heroin, a felony.

Jacqueline Nanette Cross, age 41, 22001 Zep Road East, Sarahsville, OH, possession of methamphetamine, a felony.

Courtney Marie Hardy, age 30, 356 Water Street, Cambridge, OH, tampering with drugs, a felony.

Brandon Paul Layman, age 37, 610 Second Street, Marietta, OH, possession of heroin, a felony.

Nathan Scott Tewkesbury, age 34, petty theft, 2 counts, and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors.

Perry Alfred Judson, age 19, 2301 Moody Ridge Road, Vincent, OH, driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.

Chase Luther Wyi Simmons, age 34, 1231 Third Street, Portsmouth, OH, aggravated possession of drugs, a felony.

There are currently 27 female inmates and 106 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
