 OH Organized Crime Investigations Special News Release 3 Jul 19

An investigation by Agents of the Ohio Organized Crimes Investigations Commission, Washington Morgan Noble Major Crimes Task Force was conducted in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. 

On 2 Jul 19 Agents, along with the Marietta Police Department executed a search warrant at a motel/hotel in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.   Damon Thomas Berry Jr was located in the hallway and secured.  A bathroom directly in front of where Berry was located appeared to have water on the seat and the tank filling with water.  Located in a portion of the toilet was 36.59 grams of heroin.  Also located was marijuana, digital scales with residue, multiple cell phones and $1,102.00 in US currency.

Damon Thomas Berry Jr., age 24, 2604 Cedar Avenue, Apt. 158, Cleveland, OH, was placed under arrest and charged with trafficking of heroin (36.59 grams) F2, tampering with evidence F-3 and possession of criminal proceeds F5.

Agents learned that Berry had active warrants for robbery, probation violation, aggravated robbery, resisting arrest, escape (2 counts) through the Beachwood Police Department, Beachwood, OH.  Berry is also a post release control violator at large through the State of Ohio.

Berry appeared in Marietta Municipal Court on 3 Jul 19 and is being held on $100,000 bond. Berry is also being held on the parole violation and no bond on the escape charge.

The Washington Morgan Noble Major Crimes Task Force is part of Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Organized Crime Investigation Commission and is comprised of representatives of Post 84 of the Ohio State Highway Patrol; Washington, Morgan and Noble County Sheriff’s Offices; the Marietta, Belpre and McConnelsville Police Departments; and the Washington, Morgan and Noble County Prosecutor’s Office.
