On 18 May 19 Deputy Schwendeman responded to Sparling Road, Waterford, OH, in reference to an altercation along the river bank. Deputy Schwendeman advised the subjects involved reference possible disorderly conduct charges in the future.
On 19 May 19 Sgt. Reeder was dispatched to Waterford to a criminal damaging report where windows were broken out of a vehicle. This case remains under investigation.
On 19 May 19 Deputy Hall began an investigation into a theft on Bender Road, Marietta. A Stihl chainsaw and a Dewalt Sawzall were stolen. This case remains under investigation.
On 19 May 19 Deputy White responded to 7923 Veto Road, Belpre, Ohio, in reference to a stolen television set. This case remains under investigation.
On 19 May 19 Jennifer Legleitner, Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, OH, reported to Deputy Parks the theft of two chainsaws. This case remains under investigation.
On 20 May 19 Deputy Young and Sgt. Holbert were dispatched to 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, Ohio. A subject needed assistance obtaining a child from a Derek Vanhorn. An active warrant for Vanhorn was also on file out of Marion County, OH. Deputies attempted to make contact at the residence with Vanhorn at the front door, however, met with negative results. Deputies proceeded to the rear of the residence and made contact with Vanhorn, however, he refused to come outside when asked. Deputies requested to speak with the individual who requested law enforcement at which time Vanhorn shut and locked the door. Deputies continued to cover the residence to ensure Vanhorn did not leave. Numerous attempts to get Vanhorn to turn himself over to law enforcement were attempted. Vanhorn was advised of the active warrant for his arrest. At one point Vanhorn attempted to enter back into the residence while Sgt. Holbert attempted to apprehend him (Vanhorn). Deputy Young rendered aid to Sgt. Holbert at which time Vanhorn picked up a door and threw it at the Deputies and fled inside. Deputies again checked the front of the residence, at which time Sgt. Holbert again made contact with Vanhorn at the back door. Derek Jordan Vanhorn, age 31, was taken into custody on the warrant and charged with resisting arrest. Vanhorn was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 20 May 19 at approximately 2258 hours Deputy McKee was dispatched to the area of 625 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, OH. Deputies had been called to this area previously regarding a David Witte being at/or near the location and being asked to leave and not return. Deputy McKee arrived and found Witte hiding in a vehicle owned by the property owners. While speaking with Witte, he claimed he owned the property. David Junior Witte, age 54, 4164 Howell Street, Norton, OH, was placed under arrest for trespassing and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 20 May 19 Deputy Young began an investigation in Lawrence Township in reference to a domestic incident. In speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded
On 20 May 19 Deputy Gainer was advised that there was possibly marijuana in a dorm inside the Washington County Jail. With the assistance of Deputy Zide and K9 Rita, the area was checked. K9 Rita gave a positive indication on Michael Wallace’s bed location. The mattress was found to have a large hole located on the top, with a small amount of suspected marijuana inside. Michael Andrew Wallace II, age 26, 105 Leland Avenue, Marietta, OH, was charged with possession of marijuana.
On 20 May 19 Deputy A McConnell along with other Deputies began an investigation into a runway/missing juvenile. The juvenile was later located in Wood County, WV.

David Junior Witte, age 54, 4164 Howells Street, Norton, OH, criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor.
Derek Jordan Vanhorn, age 31, Waterford, OH, contempt of court and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.
Burl Dwight Waggoner, age 26, 2026 17th Street, Apt. 6, Parkersburg, WV, contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 26 female inmates and 87 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
