On 8 Mar 19 Deputy Zide requested a warrant be issued for Preston Von Archie, age 27, 171 Mill Branch Road, Belpre, OH, on a charge of endangering children and domestic violence. On 6 Feb 19 Deputy Zide responded to a report that Archie had abused a juvenile victim. Multiple bruises/marks were observed to the child by the mother after the child had been cared for by Archie. Through investigation, it was determined that Archie had left the area. Deputy Zide spoke with Archie by phone in which Archie did confirm leaving marks on the juvenile. Due to being outside the area Deputy Zide requested the warrant.
On 11 Mar 19 Deputies Schwendeman and Reynolds were dispatched to Muskingum Township in reference to a possible assault. The victim did not wish to pursue any charges at the time. Case closed.
On 12 Mar 19 Deputy McKee met with Larry Thomas, Newport, OH, in reference to vehicle parts stolen from a 2002 Dodge. This case remains under investigation.
On 12 Mar 19 Deputy A McConnell requested a summons be issued for Elton Hart, age 43, 3747 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. On 8 Dec 18 law enforcement and squad personnel were called to Hart’s residence to administer aid to Hart, who was unresponsive. Paraphernalia items were located inside the residence, including spoons, needs, etc. On 7 Mar 19, the results from the test were received with the findings being positive for heroin and fentanyl.
On 13 Mar 19 Deputy Carr met with Burt Huntsman, Macksburg, OH, in reference the theft of a laptop. This case remains under investigation.
On 13 Mar 19 Deputy Reynolds began an investigation into identity fraud. This case remains under investigation.
On 14 Mar 19 Deputy Zide along with the Little Hocking and Wesley Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a fully engulfed structure fire at 568 Hill Road, Cutler, OH.
On 14 Mar 19 Deputies Hall and Hill responded to Waterford Tank and Fabrication to a report of an employee having person items disturbed. This case remains under investigation.
On 14 Mar 19 Deputy White was dispatched to meet with Amanda Moneypenny in regards to a protection order violation that occurred in Vincent, Ohio. Moneypenny advised Joshua Thompson had been in violation of a protection order since at least 2 Feb 19 when he was released from jail. Moneypenny advised Thompson moved back into her residence and has been in almost constant contact with her, since his release. Thompson was due to move from the home however did not, therefore Moneypenny contacted law enforcement. Deputies were unable to locate Thompson in the area. A warrant is being requested for Joshua Lee Thompson, age 36, lka: High Street, Vincent, OH, on a charge of violation of a protection order.
On 14 Mar 19 Deputy Reynolds responded to Lawrence Township in reference to a possible domestic incident. In speaking with all parties this was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
