Flood Watch...UPDATED National Weather Service Charleston WV 511 AM EST Wed Feb 6 2019 Perry-Morgan-Athens-Washington-Jackson OH-Vinton-Meigs-Gallia- Lawrence OH- Including the cities of New Lexington, Crooksville, Somerset, McConnelsville, Stockport, Athens, Marietta, Belpre, Jackson, Wellston, Oak Hill, McArthur, Hamden, Pomeroy, Gallipolis, Ironton, and South Point 511 AM EST Wed Feb 6 2019 ...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON... The Flood Watch continues for * A portion of southeast Ohio, including the following areas, Athens, Gallia, Jackson OH, Lawrence OH, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, and Washington. * This morning through Thursday afternoon * The combination of several rounds of moderate to heavy rain and already saturated soils may cause flooding. Expect to see strong rises on creeks and small streams, and, eventually, rises on major rivers. * Be prepared for potential closure of some roadways along creeks and small streams. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
