On 3 Jan 19 Deputy Hall began an investigation in reference to a violation of a protection order. This case remains under investigation.
On 3 Jan 19 Karen Davis reported receiving a collect call from the Washington County Jail from Kenneth Holbert. A protection order is currently in place through Marietta Municipal Court. Verification was made through Municipal Court and Kenneth Dewayne Holbert, age 40, 137 Brandy Drive, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest for violating a protection order. (594)
On 3 Jan 19 Deputy Young began an investigation in Barlow Township in reference to a theft from the victim’s bank account. This case remains under investigation.
On 4 Jan 19 Deputy White began an investigation in Warren Township in reference to missing mail. This case remains under investigation.
On 4 Jan 19 Deputy McKee began an investigation in reference to a violation of a protection order. In speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.
On 4 Jan 19 Blaine Lamp, New Matamoras, OH, reported a 400 EX Honda four-wheeler, older bicycle and mountain bike stolen from the property. This case remains under investigation. (129)
On 4 Jan 19 Sgt. Holbert responded to 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, OH, and met with Larry and Kathy Haught. The Haughts heard excessive noise outside and upon exiting the residence observed their son, Larry Haught Jr., exit his residence yelling profanities at his father. Larry Haught Jr. punched his father in the face. Larry Haught Jr. fled the scene and was not located. A warrant is being requested for the arrest of Larry Dale Haught Jr., age 38, 565 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, OH, on a charge of domestic violence.
On 5 Jan 19 Deputy Jones responded to Waterford Township in reference to a vehicle being stolen. The vehicle belongings to Aron Sells and he had allowed an individual to drive the vehicle and it was parked at their residence in Beverly. Joshua Martin was present at the residence throughout the night and information was received that Martin had taken the vehicle and was driving it. Martin stated he knew nothing about the vehicle. Deputy Jones is requesting a warrant be issued for Joshua Don Martin, age 38, 209 Pennock Drive, Lot 39, Beverly, OH, on a charge of obstructing official business.
On 6 Jan 19 Deputy Metts and Sgt. Holbert responded to 317 3rd Street, Beverly, OH, to a domestic dispute. Zachary Wriston identified himself and stated he had been having trouble with his brother, Zale Reed. Wriston admitted to Officers that he had hit Reed multiple times with his fist. Zachary Ray Wriston, age 24, was placed under arrest on a charge of domestic violence. Wriston was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 6 Jan 19 Deputy Jones was to meet with Shirley Gregor, 27335 State Route 7 Lot 13, Marietta, Ohio. It was reported that Randy Clevenger was tearing up the home of Gregor. Deputy Jones located Clevenger driving on SR 7 and a traffic stop was conducted. Clevenger was found to be driving on a suspended license. Deputy Jones returned with Clevenger to the Gregor home. Deputy Jones observed a bedroom where Clevenger had stayed which had been damaged. Gregor reported that Clevenger also threatened to harm her son. Gregor stated earlier she had heard items being broken while Clevenger was in the bedroom. Randy Joe Clevenger, age 31, was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated menacing and criminal damaging and transported to the Washington County Jail. A citation was also issued to Clevenger for driving under suspension.
On 6 Jan 19 Tammy Martin, New Matamoras, Ohio, reported a break-in at the property she rents, with items removed. (129)
On 6 Jan 19 Sgt. Holbert and Deputy Metts were dispatched to meet with Melidi Humphrey in reference to a domestic dispute. Humphrey stated she and her boyfriend, Samuel Hartshorn, were in a verbal altercation. In speaking with Hartshorn, it was determined that the two had been involved in a physical altercation. Samuel Abraham Hartshorn, age 40, 180 Cornerville Road, Reno, was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence. Hartshorn was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 6 Jan 19 Deputy Metts met with Richard Gaskins, Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, OH, in reference to a stolen 1996 Jeep Cherokee. This case remains under investigation.
On 6 Jan 19 Deputy A McConnell and Lt. Augenstein responded to 2195 Layman Road, Vincent, in reference a fight between Destry Todd and Darries Smith. Smith called to advise that Todd assaulted him and was destroying furniture. Another call was reported to dispatch at this same location. Upon the Deputies trying to investigate the reports, Todd was acting in a manner, due to his intoxicated state, which was preventing the completion of the investigation. Todd was advised to cease his actions and language, however, refused. Destry S. Todd, age 28, was placed under arrest and charged with disorderly conduct. Todd was transported to the Washington County Jail where he tested .20 BAC on the PBT.
On 7 Jan19 Deputy Hall began an investigation in Waterford Township in reference to a possible domestic incident. In speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.
On 7 Jan 19 Deputy Carr met with Gary Boggs, Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta, OH, in reference to an air compressor that had been stolen. This case remains under investigation.
On 7 Jan 19 Deputy Young responded to 8770 County Road Nine, Marietta, OH, to a 911 call. Michelle McIlvain stated she had been assaulted by Matthew C. Friend. McIlvain stated Friend had been drinking during the evening and she was lying on the couch and Friend started “running his mouth”. McIlvain stated that Friend took leftovers outside and dumped them and returned inside and threw the pan at her head. Friend then approached McIlvain and rubbed a piece of toast in her face. McIlvain got up to clean up and she and Friend came face to face at which time Friend punched her in the face. McIlvain then threw a punch at Friend. McIlvain’s glasses were broken during the altercation and she received a swollen lip and marks to her face. Matthew Clayton Friend, age 49, 4770 County Nine Road, Marietta, OH, was placed under arrest on a charge of domestic violence. Friend was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 8 Jan 19 Deputy Carr began an investigation in Aurelius Township in reference to a possible domestic incident. In speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.

Adrianna L Smith, age 28, 98 Boaz Garden Drive, Apt. 37, Williamstown, WV, driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, contempt of court, no seat belt, right of way at stop/yield sign, and driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs >.10 %, all misdemeanors.
Uriah Gregg, age 21, 9560 Crews Lane, Chesterhill, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Gary Dean Beagle Jr., age 34, 1208 Park Avenue, New Matamoras, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Matthew Clayton Friend, age 49, 4770 County Nine Road, Marietta, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 23 female inmates and 98 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
