On 26 Dec 18 Sgt. Reeder met with Morgan Raley, 250 Zion Ridge Road, Marietta, OH, in reference to a theft at the residence.  This case remains under investigation.

On 27 Dec 18 Lt. Hornbeck responded to 4755 Waterford Road, Marietta, OH, to assist Marietta Municipal Court Probation Officers with a property search.  Probation Officers were looking for two subjects regarding probation violations.  Rebecca Sparks met the Officers at the door and advised that neither subject was there. Sparks told them they were at their parent’s homes.  The Officers left the residence and returned a short time later in which the residence was searched finding one subject in a closet with a bed pushed against the door blocking it from the outside.  The other subject was located hiding in a shower.  A warrant is being requested for Rebecca Dawn Sparks, age 35, on a charge of obstructing official business.

On 29 Dec 18 Deputy Carr began an investigation into a possible violation of a protection order.  Through investigation, it was determined that no charges would be filed and the case was marked closed.

On 29 Dec 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to 17068 State Route 550, Marietta, OH, to meet with Chad Barnes in reference to the residence being entered.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Dec 18 Deputy Hall responded to the 20000 block of State Route 550, Marietta, OH, in reference to three cows and one horse running loose and in the roadway. The owners were identified and the animals were returned to the fenced area without incident.  Nancy Snider stated the animals are her responsibility.  A summons is being requested for Nancy Snider, age 42, on a charge of animals at large.

On 31 Dec 18 Deputy McKee began a theft investigation at the Mary Francis residence, 4170 Sugar Run Road, Marietta, OH.   This case remains under investigation.

On 31 Dec 18 Sgt. McGilton and Deputy White filed for a summons through Marietta Municipal Court on Ronald  E. Brown, age 50, 725 Old Friendship Road, Rock Hill, SC, on a charge of telecommunications harassment.   From 19 Dec through 26 Dec 18 Brown sent multiple text messages daily to cell phones belonging to the business of Carpers Well Service, 30745 State Route 7, Newport, OH, his previous employer.  The messages were harassing and contained profanities.  On 26 Dec 18, a text message was sent to Brown advising him to stop texting, which was received by Brown, however, he continued to text multiple times. Brown was interviewed in reference to the abundance of messages he had sent and was continuing to send.  Brown admitted to the text messages, stating he was upset with the events that led to his termination.

On 31 Dec 18 Deputy Brown responded to 103 Halstead Road, Marietta, OH, to a domestic violence complaint.  After speaking with all individuals involved Terry Michael Reynolds, age 53, 87 Tower Road, Little Hocking, OH, was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, domestic violence, and child endangering.  Reynolds was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.  A portable breathalyzer test conducted at the jail yielded a .162 result.

On 31 Dec 18 Lt. Augenstein responded to 137 Brandy Drive, Marietta, to a possible domestic violence complaint. Carla Vickers called and reported her ex-boyfriend, Kenneth Holbert, held her at her residence with a knife but had since left.  Vickers advised earlier in the evening she encountered Holbert in her home.  Vickers told Holbert to leave at which time he pulled out a folding knife and told her to “shut up”.  Vickers continued to tell him to leave.  Holbert did leave the residence, taking Vicker’s cell phone with her.  Vickers stated Holbert has been advised several times to stay away from the residence.  Lt. Augenstein requested a warrant for the arrest of Kenneth Dewayne Holbert, age 40, for aggravated burglary, menacing by stalking and disrupting public service.

On 1 Jan 19 Sgt. Holbert was made aware of subjects being threatened via text messages.  Information was received that a Shelly L. Lahai-Carpenter, LKA: Lord Street, Marietta, OH, was sending threatening text messages regarding an inmate’s family members. Sgt. Holbert will be requesting a warrant be issued for Lahai-Carpenter, age 44, for menacing by stalking.

Brianna Lee Messick, 106 Stonecrest Drive, Marietta, OH, breach of recognizance on an obstructing official business charge.

Michael L Wallace, 2551 Hopewell Road, Gambier, OH, theft.

Bradley Allen Divel, 15943 State Route 555, Cutler, OH, failure to appear on a child support case.

Colton Ryan Balderson, 17184 Muskingum River Road, Waterford, OH, failure to appear on an improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle charge.

Patrick Caprice Henry, 284 Irwin, Cincinnati, OH, failure to appear on a burglary charge.

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday 31 Dec 18 and Wednesday 1 Jan 19:

Michael David Blind, 1247 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, OH, theft, and contempt of court, both misdemeanors.

Sarah Marie Lightner, 693 Wynncrest Drive, Fleming, OH, probation violation, a misdemeanor, and contempt of court.

Terry Michael Reynolds, 87 Tower Road, Little Hocking, OH, disorderly conduct, domestic violence and child endangering, all misdemeanors.

Joshua Allen Campbell, 1027 Greene Street, Marietta, OH, criminal damaging, a misdemeanor.

Shawn Seyler McClead, 814 Elm Street, Belpre, OH, drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Emily Ann Wagner, 721 Fourth Street, Belpre, OH, domestic violence and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.

John Wesley Hoy, 302 Walnut Street, Belpre, OH, 2 counts of theft, probation violation and breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors.

Adam Lee Sams, 2311 45th Street, Parkersburg, WV, possessing drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor

There are currently 19 female inmates and 90 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
