Sgt. Smith was featured in the Women of Marietta gallery and their Facebook and Instagram pages for her work in the Security and Transportation Division.
Hello everyone! Thanks to all who attended the gallery last week. In case you didn’t have a chance to see it, all of the women featured in the gallery will be posted on this page and on Instagram @womenofmarietta.
Kim Moore Smith is a Sergeant in the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. She spends her time in the security and transportation division, where she deals with outstanding warrants and attendance at felony court. Her main goal as a member of the police department is to help people. Her intention was never to move up to a higher rank, but her focus on quality work allowed her to achieve this status. Prior to entering the police force, she was an EMT. She loves being able to be the person who helps others in need. Before entering her division, there were no other females. She prides herself on her work ethic and her attention to details to make up for the possibility of being outmuscled in the field. She wants her legacy to be about how hard of a worker she was and how much she cared about the community. Her words of advice for females wanting to go into the law enforcement field is to study now, work hard, and no matter what happens, you will get where you are meant to be.
