The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Flood Warning for Northeastern Washington County.
At 10:06 PM reporting gauges indicate that water along the Little Muskingum River will exceed flood stage tonight due to the rainfall that fell earlier today. As of 10 PM the latest reported stage at the Bloomfield gauge was 15.75 feet with the river still rising. It will be several hours before water begins to recede. Route 26 near the intersection of State Route 260 starts to flood between 16-20 feet. Use caution if traveling on roads along the Little Muskingum tonight and do not drive through flooded roadways.
Turn around, don’t drown.
