The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Flood Watch for our area. This is in effect from Wednesday evening through Friday morning.
This will include Athens, Jackson, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington counties. An oscilating stationary front could bring 2 to 3 inches of rain over the watch area. Flooding of creeks, streams, low lying and poor drainage areas will be possible.
A Flood Watch meanst here is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
