SCAM Involving WCSO’s Non-Emergency Line

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office non-emergency line, 740-376-7070, is being used by a scammer to target residents of Washington County. The caller identifies himself as someone from the Sheriff’s Office. The most recent caller identified himself as “Deputy Davis” and told the victim that there were 2 warrants for his/her arrest. The caller also gave case numbers and the caller ID appeared as “740-376-7070.”

This is a scam and if you receive this phone call, please notify WCSO by calling 740-376-7070 extension 0 or you may send an anonymous tip.

If you receive a call of this nature, know that the call is not from WCSO and you are talking to a scammer! If you receive this call, you can still hang up and dial 740-376-7070 to speak with a dispatcher.
