WCSO NEWS RELEASES FOR 3 OCT 18

On 21 Sep 18 Deputy H Tornes responded to 1355 Congress Road, Belpre, Ohio in reference to a loose dog in the area.  The dog was taken to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley (HSOV).  Contact was made with Brittany and Joshua Fortney, 1902 Way Road, Belpre, Ohio.  The Fortneys advised the dog that had gotten loose belonged to them.  Verification was made through the Washington County Auditor’s Office that this dog was not registered.  A summons is being requested for Brittany Ann Fortney, age 27, for failing to register and failing to restrain her dog.

On 29 Sep 18 Lt. Augenstein began an investigation in reference to unapproved charges on a debit/credit card.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Sep 18 Deputy Metts along with the Fearing and Salem Volunteer Fire Departments responded to 33 Pontius Road to a motorcycle fire.

On 30 Sep 18 Sgt. Parks responded to 169 Front Street, New Matamoras, to a report by Ben Thomas that 2 Yamaha motorcycles were removed from his property.

On 2 Oct 18 Deputy Carr responded to Marietta Township in reference to a possible domestic.  After speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.

On 2 Oct 18 Lt. Hunter responded to Par Mar, State Route 7, in reference to a drive off of 8 gallons of gasoline.  This case remains under investigation.

On 2 Oct 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to Barlow Township in reference to a possible domestic.  After speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.

On 3 Oct 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on Brittany Science and Matthew Nolan.  Deputy Zide immediately noticed Nolan appeared to have marijuana on his pants; however he denied it being marijuana.  The occupants were advised that K9 Rita would be conducting a sniff around the vehicle, in which Rita gave a positive indication.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a marijuana pipe, marijuana, and 3 Clonazepam pills.  A summons is being requested for Matthew Jacob Noland, age 20, 763 Glendale Road, Marietta, Ohio, for possession of drugs, possession of marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and Brittany Annabelle Science, age 20, 75 Hilltop Lane, Friendly, WV, for possession of marijuana.

On 3 Oct 18 Deputy McKee responded to Barlow Township in reference to a possible domestic.  After speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Tuesday 2 Oct 18 to Wednesday 3 Oct 18:

Jonathan David Ward, age 35, 452 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, OH, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct by fighting, misdemeanors.

Mark Anthony Todd, age 22, 380 Hall Run Road, Middleburg, WV, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

Steven Travis Ball, age 29, 5550 Null Road, Coolville, OH, on warrants for breach of recognizance, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving under FRA suspension and improper lane usage, all misdemeanors.

There are currently 27 female inmates and 95 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
