On 7 Sep 18 Deputy Hall met with James Lafley, 55 Teri Lane, Little Hocking, regarding a stolen golf cart. This case remains under investigation.
On 8 Sep 18 Sgt. McConnell began an investigation regarding an assault in Barlow Township. The victim did not wish to pursue charges. Case closed.
On 8 Sep 18 Lt. Hunter began an investigation in Waterford Township regarding a possible domestic violence incident. In speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded.
On 9 Sep 18 Lt. Hunter along with the Newport Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to the scene of a deceased male subject.
On 9 Sep 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to 21 Clifton Road, Little Hocking, Ohio, to Stow It Self Storage Units. It was reported that locks had been cut off of buildings. This case remains under investigation.
On 10 Sep 18 Lt. Augenstein met with Patti Bauerbach, Pennock Street, Beverly, in reference to damage to her vehicle. This case remains under investigation.
On 10 Sep 18 Lt. Hornbeck responded to 10440 Veto Road, Belpre, Ohio, to a domestic violence incident. Deputy Parks met with Kristi M. Merew. Lt. Hornbeck met with Myles Merew who advised the two had been arguing. Merew stated that the argument escalated and Kristi grabbed a hammer and threatened to hit him with it. Videos of the incident were viewed by Officers. Kristi Michelle Merew, age 38, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 10 Sep 18 Sgt. Parks met with Cassie Connell. Connell stated that she and David Burt reside at 2920 Creek Road, Stockport, and have for the past couple of years. Connell states on the night of 9 Sep 18, while at the residence, Burt was intoxicated and hit, kicked and shoved her. Connell stated the next morning Burt was still intoxicated and punched her in the left eye and kicked her again. Deputies went to 2920 Creek Road and met with Burt. Burt denied hitting or striking Connell, stating she got drunk and fell over lawn fixtures. David Lee Burt, age 55, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 10 Sep 18 Deputy Carr along with the Reno Volunteer Fire Department responded to Marietta Transfer to an unresponsive male subject.
On 11 Sep 18 Lt. Hornbeck responded to 2460 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, Ohio, to a report from a Michael Lamp that he was being chased by people hiding in the woods. Lt. Hornbeck observed Christopher Griffin on the roof of the residence squatted down with a machete lying beside him. Griffin was ordered down from the roof and once on the ground was found to have a spring assisted automatic opening knife on his person. Deputies responded earlier to the same type of call from Griffin. It was determined that the name Michael Lamp was a fake name and the second call was also from Christopher Corey Griffin. Griffin, age 34, homeless, was placed under arrest on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon and making false alarms, both misdemeanors. Griffin was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Mary Ann Sidel, age 52, 817 Grandview Avenue, New Matamoras, OH, permitting drug abuse, a felony.
Jason Homer Malone, age 40, 6615 Cleveland Road, Lot E3, Ravenna, OH, non-support of dependents and probation violation (Portage County), a felony.
Lisa Michelle Shaffer, age 39, 2880 Sunnyside Road, Pennsboro, WV, possession of drug instruments, a misdemeanor.
Kristi Michelle Merew, age 38, 10440 Veto Road, Belpre, OH, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Christopher Corey Griffin, age 34, homeless, carrying a concealed weapon and making false alarms, both misdemeanors.
There are currently 31 female inmates and 102 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
