Beware of Facebook/social media scams on the internet! Scammers will create a Facebook account pretending to be someone you know. These scammers will acquire information from your Facebook account and your friends’ Facebook accounts. They may ask you to send them money, buy green-dot cards, buy iTunes cards, or use some other form of payment.

Facebook does offer a feature through Messenger where you can send money to your friends. First, be sure of the person to whom you are sending the money. Also, be sure your Facebook friend is actually your friend and not someone else!
