On 2 May 18 Vernon K. Skinner, 123 Riverview Drive, Beverly, reported a 2002 International dump truck valued at over $15,000 removed from the property on State Route 83. This case remains under investigation. (594)

On 2 May 18 Deputy A McConnell responded to Par Mar #14, 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, to a theft complaint.  Personnel observed Kylie Sue Sealey, age 19, 1656 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, stealing BIC lighters.  Sealey she admitted to the theft and was placed under arrest for theft, and a warrant for probation violation.

On 2 May 18 Deputy A McConnell responded to Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, in reference to an assault complaint involving a juvenile.  Sarah Marie Lightner, age 35, 693 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, was placed under arrest on two theft warrants and for assault.

On 2 May 18 Lt. Norman was dispatched to 66 Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, to a possible drunk individual.  Tyler A. Belyus, 799 Hocking Road, Little Hocking, admitted to drinking alcohol from a glass jar which contained “apple pie’.  A friend picked up Belyus and a summons for open container in a vehicle is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court.

On 3 May 18 Deputy Hill, while working at the Washington County Jail, became aware of Mark Anthony Hart, age 27, 434 Douglas Avenue, Marietta, Ohio, doing damage to an outside area of the jail.  Charges for criminal damaging are being filed through Marietta Municipal Court.

On 3 May 18 Deputies responded to Dodd Run Road, Marietta, to a suspicious male running in and out of the roadway.  Deputies located a man matching the description, who gave his name as Cody James. Cody spoke with slurred speech and was evasive when answering questions.  After speaking with Cody for a short time he advised his name was Cody James Mazgay and that he was wanted out of Noble County.   Cody was advised he was under arrest and while walking to the patrol vehicle pulled away and started to run off.  Deputies quickly gained control of Cody although he continued struggling with Deputies.  Deputies also located pills on Cody’s person.  Cody James Mazgay, age 20, 14640 Serdy Road, Caldwell, Ohio, was transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of possession of drugs, a failure to appear warrant and resisting arrest.

The following defendants were recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:

Jonathan David Hinton, age 46, 111 West Montgomery Street, apartment 33, Marietta, Ohio, was sentenced to 5 years at Orient for rape.

Savanna Kaylee Henry, age 25, 532 Fithian Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio, was sentenced 36 days at the Washington County Jail and 2 years community control for burglary.

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail Thursday 3 May 18 and Friday 4 May 18:

Cody James Mazgay, age 20, 14640 Serdy Road, Caldwell, Ohio, for failure to appear, possession of drugs, and resisting arrest, misdemeanors.

Sheldon Dwight Hill, age 35, 11827 State Route 555, Cutler, Ohio, for domestic violence and failure to appear, felonies; theft, domestic violence, and menacing, misdemeanors.

There are currently 26 female inmates and 100 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
