The National Weather Service in Charleston, West Virginia has issued a flash flood Warning for north central Washington County in southeastern Ohio until 1:45 PM. At 10:50 AM, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly. Some locations that will experience flooding include Marietta, Macksburg, Lower Salem and Devola. Flood waters are moving down Duck Creek from Macksburg to Whipple. The flood crest is expected to reach Marietta by Noon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report severe weather to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800-401-9535, when you can do so safely.
