On 20 Mar 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to Warren Township in regards to a domestic violence report. After speaking with both parties involved, it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 21 Mar 18 Sgt. Holbert was dispatched to 2650 Moss Run Road, Marietta, in reference to a structure fire. Upon Sgt. Holbert’s arrival, personnel from Fearing Township and Little Muskingum Volunteer Fire Departments were attending to a small utility building on the property. It was deemed a total loss of personal property inside the building and the origin of the fire was caused by an electrical problem or heating source malfunction.
On 22 Mar 18 Deputy Parks responded to Marietta Township in regards to a theft report. Case remains under investigation.
On 22 Mar 18 Deputy Metts responded to Adams Township in reference to an assault that occurred between two juveniles. Case remains under investigation.
On 22 Mar 18 Deputies responded to Marietta Township in reference to a criminal damaging incident. After speaking to both parties involved, the victim signed a refusal to prosecute. Case closed.
On 23 Mar 18 Lt. Hunter was dispatched to the intersection of SR 7 and Browns Road in Marietta Township in reference to a two vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Lt. Hunter spoke with Larry W. Adams who was operating his 2011 Hyundai Accent southbound on Browns Road. When approaching the intersection of SR 7, Larry admitted to having struck another vehicle stopped in front of him, which caused minor damage to both vehicles. Due to the contributing circumstances, Lt. Hunter cited Larry W. Adams, 603 Main Street, New Matamoras, Ohio, for failing to maintain his assured clear distance ahead of him through Marietta Municipal Court.
On 24 Mar 18 Deputies responded to 1218 Williamson Avenue, Grandview Township in reference to dispatch receiving several calls advising there was a male subject at that location yelling outside the residence. Upon Deputies arrival, a male subject was located slumped over outside the residence. The subject was incoherent and would not answer simple questions. The subject was identified as Timothy Blake and continued to be disruptive and not cooperate with the deputies. Deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol on Timothy’s person. Timothy’s step father also attempted to get Timothy to stop and cooperate but to no avail. Because Timothy continued to refuse cooperation and compliance with Deputies orders, Timothy F. Blake, age 36 was charged with disorderly conduct and was taken to Washington County Jail for processing.
On 24 Mar 18 Deputy Hall responded to the area of SR 7 due to a possible domestic violence situation taking place in a vehicle. A witness stated they observed this domestic from an incident that occurred on SR 676, Warren Township. The vehicle was observed leaving the area at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. Deputies talked to both occupants, Cindy Alejandra Hurtado Puetate and Kodi Sells. Both subjects admitted to the facts that the witness had stated. Kodi also admitted to taking Cindy’s phone to prevent her from calling for help. Due to the circumstances leading up to this incident, Kodi Sells, age 28, 2801 Emerson Avenue, Parkersburg, WV was charged with domestic violence, a misdemeanor of the first degree and disrupting public service, a felony of the fourth degree. Sells was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 25 Mar 18 Deputy Jones was dispatched to the residence of Jack and Brenda Valentine of 564 McGill Road, Dunham Township in reference to a barn fire on the property. Upon Deputy Jones arrival, Dunham Fire Department was on scene and nearly had the flames extinguished. The barn was a total loss.
The following warrants were processed at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office:
Joshua R. Lewis, 1308 Williamson Avenue 8F, New Matamoras, Ohio, for violation of community control. Original charge was violation of protection order.
Samuel L. Damron, 197B Fay Avenue, Marietta, Ohio, for failure to appear. Original charge was contempt.
Cody A. Murphey, 6430 N. Buttermilk Hill Road, McConnelsville, Ohio, for failure to appear. Original charge was OVI.

Sandra Marie Parlin, age 36, 844 Maple Street, Parkersburg, WV, on a warrant for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.
Mikaela Morgan Schramm, age 22, 182 Dawes Circle, Marietta, Ohio, for probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Jeffrey Michael Snider, age 37, 1125 Kings Ridge Road, St. Marys, WV, for possession of drugs, a felony.
David Wayne Evans, age 42, 61051 SR 821, Macksburg, Ohio, on a warrant for probation violation, a misdemeanor.
Delbert Daniel Cain, age 42, 100 Simpson Street, Marietta, Ohio, for failure to reinstate operator’s license and drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Joshua David Fortney, age 43, 108 Dye Circle, Marietta, Ohio, for fictitious plates, a misdemeanor.
Timothy Francis Eugene Blake, age 37, 47230 SR 7, New Matamoras, Ohio, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
Kodi Allen Sells, age 28, 2801 Emerson Ave., Apt. 18, Parkersburg, WV for disrupting public service, a felony.
Noah C. Barr, age 20, 363 Richland Ave., Apt. 107, Athens, Ohio, for drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
There are currently 28 female inmates and 105 male inmates being housed in the Washington County Jail.
