Columbus Woman Arrested for Attempted Prostitution

On 17 Feb 18 Lt. Hornbeck and Sgt. Parks were dispatched to 99 Linton Hill Road, Coolville, Ohio, Decatur Township to meet with Mark Dunn. Dunn had requested officers respond to his residence due to him being assaulted by a female. Deputies met with Dunn and a female who identified herself as Charmika Evans, however it was later determined her real name was Charmika Young.
Young stated she was from Columbus, Ohio, and had arrived at the residence of Dunn to turn a “trick” with him. Young smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was slurring her speech, stating she had 2 or 3 beers this date. Young further stated she had just met Dunn tonight in Columbus through a friend of hers who is a prostitute. Young states after they arrived at the home and she went inside, she changed her mind about going through with it. Young later changed her story and admitted to knowing Dunn for the past couple of months and being with him in Michigan and Columbus. Young at one point stated she was never been inside the residence.
Deputies asked Young if she had ever been arrested with her stating no, however in checking Deputies found she had been arrested on multiple occasions for various crimes. Dunn advised Deputies that he knew Young for the past couple of weeks and had solicited her services as a prostitute in Columbus, however denied bringing her to his residence to engage in sex for money, but was just trying to help her out.
Charmika Sade Young, age 30, 3521 Carbondale Drive, Columbus, Ohio, was placed under arrest for obstructing official business and attempted prostitution.
While being transported to the Washington County Jail, Young became irate, yelling and screaming, and attempted to kick out the screen between the front and back seat of the patrol car. Young also stated that she wanted to kill officers and herself.
In checking Young’s backpack Deputies located 2 glass pipes, commonly used to smoke crack cocaine, with burnt residue. Young was further charged with possession of cocaine and was processed into the Washington County Jail.
Young appeared in Marietta Municipal Court and is being held on $3500 bond.
