On 9 Feb 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with Brandon Myers as a passenger.  K9 Rita was run around the vehicle with an immediate positive indication.  All occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and during the pat down Myers was found to be in possession of a pipe, which he stated he uses to smoke marijuana.  A citation was issued to Brandon Myers, age 23, 2448 SR 260, New Matamoras, OH, for possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

On 10 Feb 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with Jessica Drake as a passenger.  Dispatch advised of an active warrant for Jessica Drake.  K9 Rita was run around the vehicle which produced a positive indication.  A search of the vehicle revealed a small baggie with syringes and a baggie of suspected drug residue and a tourniquet.  Jessica Dawn Drake, age 30, 113 Dayton Road, Marietta, Ohio, was placed under arrest on the warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail.  Once at the Washington County Jail another syringe with an unknown substance was located.  A summons is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court on a charge of possession of drug abuse instruments.

On 10 Feb 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Richard Hawkins.  A check through dispatch revealed Hawkins was under a noncompliance license suspension.  Another occupant of the vehicle, Gina Karcher, had an active warrant out of Franklin County, Ohio, for possession of drugs.  K9 Rita was run around the vehicle, in which a positive indication was given.  A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe.  No other items were located.  A summons will be requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Richard W. Hawkins, age 47, 829 Ridge Street, Marietta, Ohio, on a charge of driving under suspension, turn/stop signal violation and possession of drug abuse instruments.  Gina Marie Karcher, age 30, 316 ½ Third Street, Marietta, Ohio, was placed under arrest on the warrant and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 11 Feb 18 Lt. Gherke responded to 27250 SR 7, Marietta, Ohio, to meet with Joseph Porter.  Porter reported being assaulted by Hunter D. Brandt and witnesses at the scene confirmed the information.  A warrant is being requested for Hunter D. Brandt, age 23, 585 Browns Road, Marietta, Ohio, on a charge of assault.

On 11 Feb 18 Deputy Schwendeman and the Warren Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene of a deceased male.

On 11 Feb 18 Deputy Carr responded to meet with Terri O’Brien, 6650 Sandhill Road, Marietta, in reference to a dog attacking and killing chickens.  This case remains under investigation.

On 12 Feb 18 Sgt. Reeder began an investigation in reference to stolen checks and forgery.  This case remains under investigation.

On 12 Feb 18 Deputies along with the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to an unresponsive female.

The following subjects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday 12 Feb 18 and Tuesday 13 Feb 18:

Felicia Elizabeth Casto, age 27, 1415 Lancaster Street, Marietta, Ohio, fictitious plates, a misdemeanor.

Patrick Corey Jackson, age 38, 2301 Rockland Avenue, Belpre, Ohio, 2 contempt of court/failure to appear, both felonies.

Alicia Ann Whisman, age 20, 278 Odell Lane, Parkersburg, WV, warrants for suspension and child restraint, both misdemeanors.

Gabrielle Elizabeth Rhoton, age 22, 29520 Murphy Road, Coolville, Ohio, on a warrant for theft, a felony.

There are currently 121 inmates in the Washington County Jail.
