On 5 Feb 18 Lt. Hornbeck completed a traffic stop in Dunham Township. The driver, a juvenile, was found to have no driver’s license. The juvenile will be summoned to Washington County Juvenile Court for fleeing in a vehicle, no operator’s license, and disobeying a traffic control device.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy Carr along with the Devola Volunteer Fire Department responded to Millers AM/PM to a vehicle fire. The fire was fully engulfed. No foul play is suspected.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy Hall completed a private property accident report at 540 Rummer Road, when Jeremy Brady’s vehicle rolled over an embankment.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy Hall began an investigation in reference to purchases made on account without authority. This case remains under investigation.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy Hall responded to a possible domestic involving a juvenile who had been involved in a traffic stop earlier in the day. Discipline was being given when the juvenile grabbed the arm of the disciplinarian. Charges for domestic violence will be filed through Washington County Juvenile Court.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy McKee and Sgt. Johnson responded to 460 Cole Coffman Road, Marietta, to a domestic violence report. Sherri Padgitt was in an argument with her daughter, Taylor C. Padgitt. After speaking with all parties it was determined that Taylor Christine Padgitt, age 25, would be placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 5 Feb 18 Deputy Jones initiated a traffic stop in Grandview Township with the assistance of Deputy Zide and K9 Rita. K9 Rita gave a positive indication on the vehicle in which the passenger, Michael Howell, exited the vehicle and was searched. Howell told Deputies he had a marijuana pipe on his person. Dispatch advised Deputies of an active warrant for driving under suspension out of Monroe County on Michael Paul Howell, age 39, 18695 State Route 26, Reno. Howell was placed arrest and was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing. During the booking process Corrections Officers located a narcotics smoking device on Howell’s person. All drug paraphernalia was taken into evidence and a summons will be requested through Marietta Municipal Court for possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On 6 Feb 18 Sgt. Holbert began an investigation in reference a possible credit card scam. This case remains under investigation.
On 6 Feb 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to a domestic violence incident in Warren Township between a juvenile and a parent. This case remains under investigation.
On 7 Feb 18 Deputy McKee conducted a traffic stop on Acme Street, Marietta, Ohio. The driver, Lisa Bartlett, and the passenger, David Slagle Jr. The occupants were advised that Deputy Zide and K9 Rita would be assisting, with K9 Rita performing a sniff of the vehicle. K9 Rita gave a positive indication and the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. Slagle advised there was a marijuana pipe in the vehicle and Bartlett eventually handed Deputy McKee a baggie full of what she stated was Vicodin. A search of the vehicle then disclosed multiple baggies, digital scales, a crystal like substance believed to be meth, and a marijuana pipe. A copious amount of new items, still in store security containers, including personal hygiene, tools and clothing, were also located. David Lee Slagle Jr., age 36, 4869 Rainbow Road, Lowell, and Lisa Mae Bartlett, age 29, lka: 2650 Moss Run Road, Marietta, were placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
Slagle was charged with trafficking in drugs and receiving stolen property. Bartlett was charged with aggravated possession of drugs, tampering with evidence and turn/stop signal violation.
On 7 Feb 18 Corrections Officer Peters was working the Washington County Jail, 101 Westview Avenue, Marietta, and assisting the Nurse with medicating. After meeting with Ryan Davis, and upon shutting the cell door, Davis made remarks about a Jail Lieutenant. Davis also made a threatening statement towards the Lieutenant. Deputy White completed charges for aggravated menacing and intimidation of a victim and filed those charges through Marietta Municipal Court on Ryan Andrew Davis, age 35, lka: 106 ½ Sacra Via Street, Marietta, Ohio.
On 7 Feb 18 Deputy Metts and Sg. Reeder responded to 405 East Branch Road, Lowell, after receiving information that Chelsea Cordray, age 33, was at the above address, and had an active warrant for her arrest. Cordray was also a protected person on an active protection order against the property owner, Jerry W. Grose. Grose acknowledged the protection order on file. Deputy Metts found Cordray hiding under a blanket in the bedroom closet and placed her under arrest on the warrant. A summons is being requested for Grose for violation of a protection order.

Willie Hays Nash, III, age 37, 300 Starlite Drive, Marietta, Ohio, on a warrant for contempt of court, a misdemeanor.
Justin Daniel Deems, age 37, 725 N. Seventh Street, Marietta, Ohio, for driving under suspension, 2 counts, and fictitious plates, all misdemeanors.
Chelsea Jill Buchanan, age 33, 405 E. Branch Street, Lowell, contempt of court, theft, and breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors.
There are currently 122 inmates in the Washington County Jail.
