On 30 Jan 18 a report was received where the Pit-bull belonging to James Lowers, 20 Charles Street, Newport, was running loose. Sgt. McGilton will be requesting a summons for Lowers for failure to restrain.
On 31 Jan 18 Det. Smeeks issued a citation for fictitious plates to Sharon J. Sanicky, 30656 SR 7, Marietta, Ohio.
On 31 Jan 18 Deputy Schwendeman responded to the Washington County Career Center in reference to a student being in possession of marijuana. A summons will be requested through Washington County Juvenile Court for the juvenile.
On 31 Jan 18 Deputy Schwendeman completed a private property accident report on Robinson Hill Road when a Big Sandy Superstore truck caught on power lines causing damage to the pole.
On 31 Jan 18 Deputy Zide responded to Dollar General, 27055 SR 7, Marietta, to a call of a male slumped over the steering wheel in his vehicle. Two subjects inside the vehicle were identified and both ignored questions asked of them. A permission to search was denied in which K9 Rita was taken around the vehicle revealing a positive indication. The two subjects, Robin Scott and Neil Sprout, were asked to step from the vehicle so a pat down could be conducted. This pat down of Sprout revealed multiple unidentified pills, a syringe and an unknown power. A later search of the vehicle revealed syringes, digital scale, multiple containers, vials and spoons. Based on this information all items were taken as evidence and a summons will be requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Neil Denver Sprout, age 41, 512 Lick Run Road, Walker, WV, and Robin Louise Scott, age 34, PO Box 21, Mineral Wells, WV, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Other charges may be forthcoming after testing of the unknown powder and pills.
On 1 Feb 18 Michael Hinzman, 881 Huck Road, Lowell, reported aluminum cyl heads removed from his property. This case remains under investigation. (907)
On 1 Feb 18 Sgt. McGilton received a complaint of four dogs belonging to Nicole and Jeremy Davis of 1072 Leith Run Road, New Matamoras, Ohio, running loose on January 31, 2018. The dogs exited the property and went onto the roadway of Leith Run Road, and charged towards the complainant in an aggressive manner. Contact was attempted at the Davis home in which the dogs were observed running loose at that time. All four dogs were transported to the Humane Society and a notice posted to contact Sgt. McGilton. A summons is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for failure to restrain the dogs to Nichole D. Davis, age 33, and Jeremy R. Davis, age 39.

Andrea Lee Sees, age 24, 1210 Laird Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, on warrants for grand theft, a felony, and speed, a misdemeanor.
Donald Ray Kennedy, age 24, Parkway Apt. 5D, New Matamoras, Ohio, breaking and entering and escape, both felonies, and 2 counts theft, misdemeanors.
Freddy Dale Taylor Jr., age 46, 729 Ninth Street, Marietta, Ohio, possession of drugs, 2 counts felonies, 1 count misdemeanor, and substance in a hidden compartment of a vehicle, a felony.
Taylor Christine Padgett, age 25, 460 Cole Coffman Road, Marietta, Ohio, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
