On 26 Jan 18 Deputy A. McConnell responded to a report of a possible burglary. This case remains under investigation.
On 26 Jan 18 Deputy Johnson along with the Watertown and Beverly Waterford Volunteer Fire Departments responded to Palmer Township to a report of a barn fire. The fire was extinguished however the barn and contents were a total loss.
On 26 Jan 18 Deputy Carr responded to Grandview Township to a possible domestic situation which was determined to be unfounded.
On 26 Jan 18 Deputy Hall took a bad check report. In speaking with prosecutors it was determined to be a civil matter. Case closed.
On 26 Jan 18 Deputy Zide responded to a possible domestic. Kyle Davis, 565 Fleming Road, Lowell, reported his live in girlfriend, Megan Newlon, became involved in a verbal argument that turned physical a few hours prior. Kyle Michael Davis and Megan Jean Newlon were both arrested and charged with domestic violence.
On 27 Jan 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on Charles Ice, PO Box 42, New Martinsville, WV. When asked if there were any contents in the vehicle that he should not have, Ice reported a marijuana pipe. A search also revealed 2 containers with marijuana along with another marijuana pipe with burnt marijuana. A summons is being requested for Ice for possession of a controlled substance.
On 27 Jan 18 Deputy Zide conducted a traffic stop on Jeremiah D. Foster, 410 Reynolds Run Road, Newport, OH. Contact with Foster revealed his eyes were glassy and bloodshot, his speech was slurred along with an odor of an alcoholic beverage on/or about his person. Also noted was an open beer can in the vehicle. Foster was placed under arrest for OVI, open container and marked lanes violation, and was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Travis Eugene Sparks, age 35, 3395 State Route 26, Marietta, OH, felonious assault, a 2nd degree felony; 48 months Orient.
Gregory Lee Frye, age 36, 4550 EJ Ross Lane, Stockport, OH, probation violation, original charge possession of drugs, a 4th degree felony; 90 days county jail.
