On 16 Jan 18 Deputy Allender began an investigation in reference to fraudulent charges being made on a credit card. This case remains under investigation.
On 17 Jan 18 Sgt. Johnson responded to Graecon Construction, 280 Commerce Drive, Marietta, along with the Reno Volunteer Fire Department. This was in reference to the cab of a semi being on fire. The owner, Billy Bland of Bland Trucking LLC, was unsure what caused the fire, however it appears to be a total loss.
On 17 Jan 18 Deputy Carr began an investigation into a possible menacing. In speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded. Case closed.
On 18 Jan 18 Sgt. Johnson began an investigation into a possible domestic incident. In speaking with all parties involved it was determined to be unfounded.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Wednesday 17 Jan 18 and Thursday at 18 Jan 18:
Jeffrey Michael Snider, age 37, 1125 Kings Ridge Road, St. Mary’s, WV, on a warrant for drug possession, a felony. Snider was picked up at South Central Regional Jail by Deputy Doak of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jan 18 at 2:55 pm.
Tanner John Smith, age 22, 901 Cisler Lane, Marietta, Ohio, on three warrants for drug possession, criminal damaging and breach of recognizance, all misdemeanors. Smith was picked up at North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Doak of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jan 18 at 3:18 pm.
Scott Allen Shankland, age 48, 401 Marion Street, Marietta, Ohio, for trafficking in drugs, three counts of drug possession, all felonies and drug instrument possession, a misdemeanor. Shankland was arrested by Trooper Hutton of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jan 18 at 11:40 pm.
There are currently 25 females and 103 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
