On 9 Jan 18 Dennis A. Huck, State Route 83, Beverly, reported a carburetor missing from a Chevrolet truck. This case remains under investigation. (790)
On 9 Jan 18 Deputy Martin filed charges requesting a warrant for the arrest of Matthew Colby Cook, age 27, 251 Summers Addition, Milton, WV, on a charge of theft. On 29 Dec 17 a verbal altercation was observed between Inmates Justin Schroeder and Matthew Cook over Cook stealing Schroeder’s commissary food items while he was out to court earlier that day. Cook was interviewed and advised that he had three days to reimburse Schroeder for the stolen items in the amount of $48.67 or he would be charged with theft. On 31 Dec 17 Deputy Martin spoke with Cook and he again stated he would have the money brought in to reimburse Schroeder the following day and apologized for stealing the commissary. On 01 Jan 18 Cook was transported back to Gallia County Jail and later released as his sentence had been completed.
On 10 Jan 18 Deputy Parks began an investigation into a resident being scammed out of approximately $150. This case remains under investigation.
On 11 Jan 18 Deputy Johnson along with the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department Squad responded to 2280 Veto Road, Vincent, to a report of an intoxicated male who fell and possibly hurt himself. Deputy Johnson met with Renee Hennes who stated her husband, Jackson Hennes, was extremely intoxicated and left the residence and began walking through the woods before falling and hurting himself. Renee showed Deputy Johnson where Jackson was and Deputy Johnson began speaking with him. Jackson told Deputy Johnson just to let him there and to leave his property. Once LHVFD arrived on scene Jackson continued his verbal resistance and began kicking paramedics. Deputy Johnson assisted in an attempt to get Jackson to his feet in which he began kicking and punching Deputy Johnson multiple times in the legs and arms. Jackson was able to be subdued and placed in handcuffs. Deputy Johnson was assisted with getting Jackson to the Sheriff’s cruiser by squad personnel, where he was checked further for injuries. Jackson continued to be assaultive and kicked the bars covering the windows and the Plexiglas center divider. Jackson L. Hennes, age 48, was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing where he is being charged with assault of a peace officer, and disorderly conduct by intoxication.
On 11 Jan 18 Sgt. Farrell received a felony indictment from the Circuit Court of Wood County, WV for the arrest of David Jason Rickard, age 41, 123 Knobley Road, New Creek, WV. The information provided by Rickard during the booking process was compared with the information on the warrant and found to match. Rickard was served his warrant as well as a copy of the fugitive from justice charges filed.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Wednesday 10 Jan 18 and Thursday 11 Jan 18:
Gregory Lee Frye, age 36, 4550 EJ Ross Lane, Stockport, OH, for FRA suspension, a misdemeanor. Frye was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 5:33 pm.
Nicole Marie Kurtz, age 32, 9645 State Route 821, Lower Salem, OH, on a warrant for theft by deception, a felony. Kurtz turned herself in at the Washington County Jail and was processed on 10 Jan 18 at 6:02 pm.
Courtney Taylor Smith, age 26, 388 Oak Grove Road, Williamstown, WV, for probation violation, a felony. Smith was arrested and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 6:18 pm.
Brian Dale Brown, age 51, 9645 SR 821, Lower Salem, Ohio, on a warrant for theft, a felony. Brown was arrested by Deputy Metts of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 8:31 pm.
Joseph Scott Antill, age 40, 709 Phillips Street, Marietta, Ohio, on a warrant for felonious assault, a felony. Antill was arrested by Patrolman Giffin of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 8:36 pm.
Jeramia Kemp Brandyberry, age 29, 280 Jett Hill Road, Marietta, Ohio, for probation violation, a felony. Brandyberry was arrested by Probation Officer Brockmeier of the Marietta Parole Authority and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 9:21 pm.
James Gregory Gray, age 33, 87 Robinson Junction, Waynesboro, MS, on a warrant for failure to appear, a felony. Gray was picked up at Lauderdale County Jail by Deputy Doak of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Jan 18 at 9:26 pm.
Jackson L. Hennes, age 48, 2280 Veto Road, Vincent, Ohio, for one count of assault, a felony, one count of assault and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. Hennes was arrested on Veto Road by Deputy Johnson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 18 at 4:39 am.
There are currently 29 females and 106 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
