On 11 Dec 17  Lt. Hunter and Deputy Carr were dispatched to 1060 Gravel Bank Road, Midway Machining, Marietta, in reference to an incident of domestic violence.   Lt. Hunter met with Robert W. Proffitt, who advised he was at this location to drop off some parts, as he is an employee of Midway Machining.  Robert states he ended up in an argument with his soon to be ex-wife, Brooke Proffitt.  Robert states the argument escalated to where Brooke struck him with her vehicle door as she was attempting to leave and then tried to run him over.  Lt. Hunter met with Brooke who stated Robert showed up and started an argument with her over their child.  Brooke states she attempted to leave and Robert tried to keep her there by sticking his leg in the driver side door of her vehicle. Eventually,  Robert grabbed the victim and ripped her from the vehicle and threw her to the ground.  Brooke states she got up and attempted to leave again and Robert again threw her to the ground, causing several scrapes to her body.  All of the victim’s accounts of this incident were corroborated by video surveillance footage from the business.  Due to the above circumstances Lt. Hunter placed Robert William Proffitt, age 35, 3835 SR 555, Little Hocking, under arrest for domestic violence.  The victim also requested a temporary protection order be issued against  Robert.
