Vehicle Crash involving Mobile Construction SIgn

On 27 Nov 17 the Ohio State Highway Patrol requested assistance with a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a mobile construction sign. Deputy Carr responded to the southbound lane of US 50 at Collins Road, Little Hocking.
At that location Deputy Carr observed a directional light trailer on the right side of the southbound lane with disabling damage, along with a Chevrolet 4 door bearing Ohio registration, parked on the southbound shoulder with disabling damage to the right front bumper and fender area.
William Nichols of Area Wide Protective Sign was on scene and observed the Chevrolet strike the directional light trailer.
The vehicle operator, Aaron K. Thompson, age 35, 25076 Mountain Belle Road, Coolville, OH, states he was coming down State Route 7 and the sun blinded him. He states he heard the rumble strips, went to pull back into the lane of travel and still was unable to see. He states there was a bang and his air bags went off.
Deputy Carr had a check completed on Thompson’s driving record finding him to be under suspension. Thompson was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension.
