Abandoned Home Total Loss from Fire
November 28, 2017
On 27 Nov 17 Deputy Hall along with the Wesley and Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 4630 Patten Mills Road, Stockport, Palmer Township.
The fire departments were on scene fighting the fire upon Deputy Hall arriving.
Deputy Hall met with Chief Jim King who reported upon his arrival the structure was fully engulfed, with the roof and rear wall collapsing. Chief King further advised that the structure was reported to be an abandoned property as the house was not adequate for someone to live in. The fire was allowed to burn down before trying to extinguish it as there was nothing to save. On 1 Dec 15 a fire had occurred at the same location, being an abandoned trailer.
Contact was made with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers to locate the property owner for the Patten Mills Road location. Contact was made with the property owner and she was advised of the fire and loss of the structure. The owner states that no one was living there and no one should be on the property.
The Sheriff’s Office then contacted the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office in order to have the fire investigated.
