On 16 Nov 17 Deputies responded to Grandview Township in reference to a female threatening to harm herself while a child was present. The child was able to get the weapon from the female and temporarily hide it. Contact was then made with the subject. Charges were filed and a warrant requested for the subject for child endangering.
On 18 Nov 17 Greg Lane, 407 Oak Hill Road, Cutler, reported damage done to a wheat field. This case remains under investigation. (597)
On 17 Nov 17 Sgt. Johnson began an investigation in Newport Township in reference to a theft from property. The reporting party did not wish to pursue any charges. Case is closed.
On 17 Nov 17 Deputy Zide was patrolling when a Chevy Camaro bearing TX registration crossed the left fog line and then changed lanes without signaling. A traffic stop was initiated. Contact with the driver, Cassandra L. Thomas, age 39, 9747 Whitehurst Drive, Dallas, TX, was made and consent to search was obtained. This search revealed two plastic marijuana grinders and multiple empty beer cans/liquor containers. There was also 1 open beer can located within arm’s reach of the driver, which was cold to the touch, and was approximately half full. A summons is being requested through Marietta Municipal Court for Thomas on a charge of possession of marijuana paraphernalia and open container.
On 17 Nov 17 Deputy Zide was patrolling on State Route 7 when he observed a Chevy Sedan bearing Ohio registration pass his location without functional license plate lights. A traffic stop was initiated and contact with the driver, Bryce Gearhart, was made and an odor of marijuana was immediately detected. Deputy Zide asked who in the vehicle had marijuana. Gearhart and passengers Kenneth Schultz and Seth Augenstein all admitted to having marijuana paraphernalia. Schultz further advised he had marijuana. A consent to search was obtained and a multitude of marijuana paraphernalia items, loose marijuana and also marijuana in oil form were located. A summons is being requested for Bryce Steven Gearhart, age 20, 808 Third Street, Marietta, for illegal possession of marijuana paraphernalia; Kenneth Everson Schultz, age 19, 150 Camelot Road, Lot 20, Belpre, for illegal possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drugs; and Seth Gerard Augenstein, age 20, 216 Fay Avenue, Marietta, for illegal possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

Joshua E. Marcum, 108 Riley Drive, Apt. 3, Marietta, for illegal manufacturing of drugs and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.
Eric. R. Neff, 240 Walnut Street, Whipple, for illegal manufacture of drugs and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.
Derek J. Vanhorn, 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, for felonious assault.
Morgan Wynn, 115 N. Hart Street, Apt. 4, Marietta, for aggravated trafficking in drugs, failure to comply with order signal of police officer, and aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Caleb Josiah Jones, age 28, 2323 Gnats Run Road, Pennsboro, WV, for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass, both misdemeanors. Jones was arrested at the Duke and Dutchess in Marietta by Patrolman Glover of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Nov 17 at 6:39 am.
Thomas Ogle Davis, Sr., age 36, 54540 SR 60 North, Beverly, for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor. Davis was arrested at his residence by Sgt. Warner of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Nov 17 at 10:20 am.
Clyde Anthony Taylor, age 48, 3622 6th Ave., Parkersburg, for driving under suspension and expired registration, both misdemeanors. Taylor was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Campbell of the Belpre Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Nov 17 at 7:33 pm.
Terry Mitchell Gibson, Jr., age 37, homeless, for one count of drugs possession, a felony, two counts of drugs possession, drug paraphernalia and theft, all misdemeanors. Gibson was arrested on Front Street by Patrolman Bonnette of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Nov 17 at 8:54 pm.
James Matthew Bunner, age 35, 1664 Thompson Ridge Road, Athens, OH, for drugs possession, a felony, obstructing official business, drug paraphernalia, fictitious plates, driving under suspension and no turn signals, all misdemeanors. Bunner was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Campbell of the Belpre Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Nov 17 at 6:49 am.
There are currently 24 females and 85 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
