On 24 Oct 17 Sgt. Reeder requested warrants through Marietta Municipal Court for the arrest of Dalton Matthew Ball, age 19, lka: Swift Road, Waterford, for a 2nd degree felony burglary, seven 3rd degree felony thefts and a 5th degree felony breaking and entering. These charges stem from a breaking and entering at Camper Hervida/Dewey Road, Waterford. It was reported on 12 Oct 17 that 2 rifles and 1 shotgun were removed from the property. On 13 Oct 17 William Skinner, 13760 Waterford Road, Waterford, reported a burglary at his residence. In this burglary Skinner reported a pistol, 2 rifles, and a shotgun removed from his residence. Sgt. Reeder received several anonymous tips throughout this investigation that Ball was in possession of a stolen firearm from a case reported to the Sheriff’s Office. Ball was arrested on an unrelated charge at which time Sgt. Reeder met with Ball at the Washington County Jail and after advising him of his Miranda Rights, Ball agreed to speak with Sgt. Reeder. Ball confessed to entering the Skinner residence and removing the guns, describing exactly where Skinner had reported the guns were stored.

Dalton Matthew Ball, LKA: 571Swift Road, Waterford, for burglary, breaking and entering and 7 theft charges.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday 23 Oct 17 and Tuesday 24 Oct 17:
Morgan Jeffery Jones, age 24, 1312 Glendale Road, Marietta, for probation violation. Jones was arrested by Patrolman Dennison of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Oct 17 at 11:51 am.
William Edward Bartges, Jr., age 44, 2800 Beach Drive, Lot 10, Belpre, for probation violation, a felony. Bartges was arrested by Lt. Hornbeck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Oct 17 at 9:31 pm.
There are currently 25 females and 94 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
