On 14 Oct 17 Deputy Metts requested a summons through Marietta Municipal Court in reference to Shawn Michael Fleming, age 43, 30 Coal Run Road, Marietta, being charged with child endangering.
On 16 Sep 17 Deputy Metts responded to the above location to a report of a 5 year old playing in the roadway without supervision. Witnesses to the incident were making sure the child was safe until Deputies arrived.
Deputy Metts observed the child on the porch at 30 Coal Run Road at which time the child went into the residence. Deputy Metts knocked at the door several times and upon getting no response opened the unlocked door and announced “Sheriff’s Office”. Shawn Fleming came to the door stating he was the person responsible for the child and that he had fallen asleep. Fleming stated he had no idea the child had went outside.
On 16 Oct 17 The Devola Volunteer Fire Department and Deputies responded to Muskingum Drive in reference to a possible overdose. Medical attention was given to the subject. This case remains under investigation. (608)
On 17 Oct 17 Sgt. McGilton filed charges through Marietta Municipal Court on John H. Parsons, 180 Main Street, Vincent, for failing to restrain his dog, after meeting with Parsons. On 15 Oct 17 Deputy Metts responded to John Parson’s residence in reference to a complaint of his dog running loose. A witness reported John Parsons’ dog ran loose and onto their property where it killed one of the cats. On 17 Oct 17 Sgt. McGilton made contact with the witness who reported John’s dogs had been loose and on their property three times in the recent past including on 15 Oct 17.

Daniel Q. Vance, 2033 Cedar Run Road, Friendly, W, failure to appear for probation appointment, original charge underage consumption.
The following subjects were recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:
Lindsey Marie Lucas, age 33, 108 Colonial Square, Apt. A, Belpre, 3rd degree felony aggravated possession of drugs, 2 counts, 120 days county jail.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Tuesday 17 Oct 17 and Wednesday 18 Oct 17:
Shawn Paul Francis, age 38, 816 Cory Street, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Francis was arrested by Patrolman Young of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Oct 17 at 9:34 pm.
Timothy Graham Baker, age 45, 26214 Main Street, Coolville, OH, on a warrant for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Baker was arrested by Deputy A. McConnell of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Oct 17 at 10:49 pm.
There are currently 20 females and 97 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
