On 8 Oct 17 while patrolling SR 7 Deputy Zide observed a Chrysler 300, bearing Florida registration, change lanes without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted near County Road 9. The driver, identified as Gary Lacount, was found to have glassy and bloodshot eyes. A check through dispatch revealed Lacount was under FRA suspension. Lacount was issued a citation earlier in the evening for the same offense. Lacount advised that he had been drinking alcoholic beverages earlier, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected about his person. A series of standardized field sobriety tests was given to Lacount in which he performed poorly on these tests. Lacount also consented to a PBT that yielded a result of .094% BAC. Gary Deon Lacount, age 43, 22300 SW 108 Ct., Miami, FL, was placed under arrest for OVI, failure to signal and driving under FRA suspension. Lacount was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 8 Oct 17 Sgt. Mark Johnson was at the Washington County Jail when he was advised that drug(s) had been located in an inmate’s shoe. The inmate, Anthony Fields, had been brought in by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Deputies observed two small bags, commonly used with illegal drug activity. While being processed, a marijuana cigarette had fallen from Fields’ pants pocket. The Highway Patrol took possession of that item for evidence. Fields was asked if he had anything else and he advised that he did not. Fields’ belongings were taken and upon checking his shoes 2 small bags were found. Fields admitted to Jail Staff that the bags contained cocaine. Anthony Erickson Fields, age 27, 232 Irvin Street, Charleston, WV, was then charged with illegal conveyance into a detention facility.
On 8 Oct 17 Deputy Carr responded to 1200 Park Avenue, New Matamoras, in regards to a domestic dispute between Luticia Beagle and Gary Beagle Jr. The Beagles were with each other last night through this morning and during this time accusations were made. Gary then smashed the windows out of Luticia’s vehicle and Luticia damaged Gary’s vehicle in return. At approximately 0800 hours the Beagles were engaged in a heated altercation in the parking lot of the Al Deco Motel. Gar was in his vehicle and Luticia opened the driver’s side door and punched him. During this altercation, Gary decided to drive away with Luticia inside the driver side door causing her to fall and obtain minor injuries. Both Gary Dean Beagle, Jr., age 33, 412 Main Street, New Matamoras, and Luticia Lynn Beagle, age 33, 1200 Park Avenue, New Matamoras, were placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Michael S. Salisbury, 230 Wood Street, Sistersville, WV, for possession of drugs.
David W. Wriston, 683 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, OH, for assault.
Tabatha D. Cain, 303 Fifth Street, Lowell, for failure to appear, original charge OVI, and breach of recognizance.
Brian K. Edgar, 445 Goss Fork Road, Whipple, for child endangering.
Eric R. Neff, 274 Ridgewood Drive, Apt. C, Marietta, for driving under suspension.
Christopher A. Ramsay, 207 Lancaster Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his driving under suspension diversion by failing to pay files and costs in full, original charge driving under suspension.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Wednesday 11 Oct 17 and Thursday 12 Oct 17:
Charles Edward Walker, Jr., age 38, 133 Acme Street, Marietta, for OVI, driving under suspension, consuming in vehicle and no seat belt, all misdemeanors. Walker was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 17 at 4:13 pm.
Jonathan David Ward, age 34, 452 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, on a warrant for theft, a misdemeanor. Ward was arrested by Patrolman Huck of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 17 at 7:17 pm.
Gary Lee Palmer, age 61, 17 Phoebe Pond Road, Concord, VA, for aggravated menacing, a felony. Palmer was arrested in New Matamoras by Lt. Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Oct 17 at 11:24 pm.
William Eugene O’Brien, age 53, 650 King Ave., Cutler, OH, for physical control of vehicle under influence of alcohol or drugs, a misdemeanor. O’Brien was arrested in Wesley Township by Deputy McKee of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 17 at 2:40 am.
Brian Denver Hess, age 41, 1107 Cisler Lane, Marietta, OH, on two warrants for probation violations, both misdemeanors. Hess was arrested by Patrolman Young of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Oct 17 at 7:55 am.
There are currently 25 females and 94 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
