On 21 Sep 17 Deputy Allender responded to Dunham Township in reference to a domestic dispute. In speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded.
On 23 Sep 17 Sgt. Holbert along with Lt. Hunter were dispatched to 480 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, in reference to an incident of domestic violence. Sgt. Holbert spoke with Arlene M. West who stated prior to our arrival she had been punched in the face by her live-in boyfriend and father of her child, Joshua Shuck. West stated this was stemming from an argument over Shuck talking to someone else. West was extremely intoxicated and somewhat belligerent in her actions while speaking with Sgt. Holbert. Sgt. Holbert and Lt. Hunter spoke with Joshua Shuck who advised West had “gone crazy” on him over him having a Facebook account. Shuck stated once the West realized he was on his phone looking at a former high school friend, she grabbed the phone from his hands, threw the phone on the floor in which it was shattered/disabled. Shuck states that West then climbed on his back in an attempt to choke him. Deputies did observe the broken phone. Shuck stated that he did not retaliate back. Deputies then spoke with West about her actions. West was attempting to show text messages that she was having when the argument began. Lt. Hunter was able to view several messages from West which were aimed at her inflicting harm on Shuck. Sgt. Holbert placed Arlene M. West, age 28, under arrest for domestic violence. West was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
On 23 Sep 17 Deputy Hall responded to the Barlow Fairgrounds, 8595 State Route 339, in reference to a male subject intoxicated wanting to fight other subjects. Deputy Hall met with Zachary Diaz. Diaz was not cooperative and would not answer questions. Diaz got out of the chair and attempted to go into his camper. Deputy Hall stopped Diaz from entering the camper and placed Diaz in handcuffs. Diaz attempted to smack his head off the side of the camper, at which time Diaz was moved toward the cruiser. Deputy Hall began to pat Diaz down for weapons, when he (Diaz) tried to hit his head off of the back cruiser window. Diaz was then moved away from the cruiser and he started yelling to “shoot me”. Diaz tried to pull away from Deputy Hall and was given verbal commands to stop resisting but did not comply. Diaz continued to resist and refuse to comply with verbal commands. Diaz was then taken to the ground and detained until assistance arrived. Diaz was very combative and fought Deputies while trying to secure him in the cruiser. Deputies were able to get Diaz in the cruiser and transport him to the Washington County Jail where he tested .258. Zachary W. Diaz, age 25, 5404 SW 82nd Lane, Ocala, FL, was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest.
On 25 Sep 17 Sgt. Mankins and Deputy Allender responded to Braun Road in reference to David Ruth making threats of harming himself and others. David denied making the suicidal comments when speaking with Deputy Allender. Videos were viewed in which David can be seen breaking a kitchen chair and screaming and cussing at family members. David Alan Ruth, age 25, 1630 Braun Road, Belpre, was placed under arrest for 2 counts of domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

William Bartges Jr., 2800 Beach Drive, #10, Belpre, for probation violation, original charge domestic violence.
Raymond E. Trivett, 200 Pennock Lane, #37, Beverly, for telecommunications harassment.
Jason R. Stewart, 809 Morgan Avenue, Belpre, for beach of recognizance, original charge possessing drug abuse instruments, and failure to appear, original charge possessing drug abuse instruments.
Nicole R. McCutcheon, 25 Watertown Road, Waterford, for breach of recognizance, original charge probation violation, and failure to appear, original charge probation violation.
Cory Conner, 2881 Westland Road, Stockport, OH, for probation violation, original charge driving under suspension.
The following subjects were recently sentenced in Washington County Common Pleas Court:
Derik Michael Wittekind, age 26, homeless, for violation of community control; 30 months Orient.
Allison Annette Smith, age 30, 4616 Federal Road, Coolville, OH, probation violation; 6 months county jail.
Christopher Michael Wolfe, age 40, 1323 40th Street, Parkersburg, WV, 2 counts grand theft 4th degree felony, 18 months x2; breaking and entering 5th degree felony, 12 months; possession of criminal tools 5th degree felony; 12 months; all consecutive and concurrent with West Virginia charges.
Richard Wayne Farnsworth, age 56, 761 Buckeye Avenue, Marietta, 4th degree felony aggravated assault; county jail.
Joshua Eric Allan, age 24, 884 Greenhill Road, Marietta, probation violation; 90 days county jail.
The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Monday 25 Sep 17 and Tuesday 26 Sep 17:
Jeffrey Dwayne Wear, age 47, 10595 State Route 555, Cutler, for OVI, and driving with OVI suspension, misdemeanors. Wear was arrested by Patrolman Heddleston of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 17 at 6:13 pm.
Richard Leroy Mayle, age 74, 600 Hill Road, Cutler, for failure to appear. Mayle was arrested by Sgt. Reeder of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 17 at 7:48 pm.
Douglas K. Kaltenbach, age 56, 7025 Marion Street, Chesterhill, OH, for having weapons under disability, a felony. Kaltenbach was arrested by Sgt. Reeder of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 17 at 8:23 pm.
Lindsey Mae Tornes, age 27, 1160 Hadley Hollow Road, Marietta, for probation violation, a felony, failure to reinstate operator’s license and failure to give half of roadway, both misdemeanors. Tornes was arrested by Sgt. Reeder of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Sep 17 at 9:06 pm.
Kourtney Ann Norris, age 24, 726 Smitherman Road, Washington, WV, drug possession and probation violation, both misdemeanors. Norris was arrested by Deputy McConnell of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Sep 17 at 6:09 am.
Shanna Jo Gorrell, age 38, 153 Washington Street, Waterford, for probation violation, a felony. Gorrell was arrested by Deputy H. Tornes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Sep 17 at 10:03 am.
