On 6 Sep 17 Deputy A. McConnell completed a breaking and entering report at a Brush Road residence.   This case remains under investigation at this time.

On 8 Sep 17 the Grandview and Newport Volunteer Fire Departments and New Matamoras Squad were dispatched along with Sgt. Holbert to 1308 Williamson Avenue,  Apt. 3A, New Matamoras.  A structure fire at that location had been extinguished upon Sgt. Holbert arriving.  This case remains under investigation.

On 8 Sep 17 Dakota A. Lawson, 210 State Route 339, Belpre, reported a breaking and entering on a building at this location.  Lawson reported to Deputy Hall the missing items to be tool bags, tool sets, socket sets and wrenches.  This case remains under investigation.

On 9 Sep 17 Sgt. Holbert responded to Dalzell Road, Liberty Township, to a vehicle along the side of the roadway.  Sgt. Holbert approached the Ford Escape and conducted a traffic stop.  The male subject appeared to be disoriented.  The male identified as Todd Alan Oxford, age 47, 790 Highland Park Drive, Akron, OH, was seated in the driver’s seat with the engine running.  An odor of an alcoholic beverage was immediately detected. Sgt. Holbert asked Oxford if he knew where he was and he was unable to determine exactly where he was.  Oxford was asked to exit the vehicle in which he was unsteady on his feet.  Oxford also performed field sobriety testing, which he did poorly on.  Oxford was then placed under arrest for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail.  A breath test was administered with the results being .153.

On 9 Sep 17 Deputy Schwendeman began an investigation in Liberty Township regarding identity theft.  This case remains under investigation.

On 9 Sep 17 Deputy Schwendeman and Lt. Gherke responded to 1320 Caywood Road, Marietta, where Alixandrea Thomas reported her boyfriend, Tyler Goodwin, hit her. Deputies met with Goodwin outside the camper.  Goodwin stated that he and Thomas had an argument about the electric being disconnected from the camper they reside in.  Goodwin denied making threats towards Thomas or physically harming her.  Thomas advised Deputies Goodwin punched her several times on the back of her right shoulder and pulled her hair.   Tyler Edward Goodwin, age 19, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

On 9 Sep 17  Deputy McKee responded to the 300 block of Strecker Lane, in reference to a lawn mower being left in the middle of the roadway.  This case remains under investigation, pending the identification of the owner.

On 10 Sep 17 a reported drunk driver was being detained in the Village of Lowell, Adams Township.  Deputy Zide met with witnesses who stated the driver was running people off of the road on State Route 60 in which they were able to get him stopped at the current location.  The driver was identified as David L. Schafer, who admitted to being all over the road and had driven to this location.  He further stated he did not feel good.  Schafer had slurred speech and was thought to be under the influence of a mixture of prescription and over the counter medication.   Schafer was unable to adequately complete the field sobriety tests, however blew .000 on a PBT.  Schafer was transported in order to complete other testing in relation to his sobriety.  David L. Schafer, 214 Pennsylvania Avenue, Marietta, was issued a citation for OVI.

On 11 Sep 17 Deputy Hall responded to 156 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, in reference to a complaint.  Lora and Michael Smith reported their daughter, Elizabeth Kidd, had been staying with them.  Elizabeth had purchased a vehicle but the loan was in Michael’s name.  The Smiths stated Elizabeth stopped making the payments so they began making them and advised her she could not drive the vehicle, as it is titled in Michael’s name.   The plates that were on the vehicle were also expired and removed.  On today’s date Elizabeth removed plates from another vehicle and placed them on said vehicle and left the residence.  A warrant is being requested for the arrest of Elizabeth G. Kidd, age 33, 156 Turkey Hollow Road, Cutler, for theft of license plate and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Devonne NMN Curtis, age 58, 105 Dudley Avenue, Marietta, for parole violation, a felony.  Curtis was arrested by Deputy Gerber of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 17 at 12:27 pm.

Daniel Lawrence Bocek Jr., age 25, Fallsinby, WV, for probation violation, a misdemeanor.  Bocek was picked up in Jefferson County by Deputy Sheaves of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 17 at 1:50 pm.

Lynn Ann Elkayam, age 41, 114 Knox Street, Apt. 11, Marietta, for probation violation, a misdemeanor.  Elkayam was arrested by Probation Officer P Brockmeier  of the Marietta City Probation Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 17 at 3:57 pm.

Kyle Scott Flanagan, age 32, 318 Fairview Lane, Marietta, for misuse of credit card, a misdemeanor.  Flanagan turned himself in to Deputy Hall of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Sep 17 at 7:14 pm.

Quinn Mitchell Tennant, age 26, 5656 DuPont Road, Parkersburg, WV, on a warrant for theft, a misdemeanor.  Tennant was arrested by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Sep 17 at 12:23 am.

Richard Anthony Waters, age 52, 107 Sixth Street, Beverly, for probation violation, a misdemeanor.  Waters was arrested by Lt. Hunter of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Sep 17 at 1:04 am.

Todd Alan Oxford, age 47, 790 Highland Park Drive, Akron, OH, for OVI, a misdemeanor.  Oxford was arrested by Sgt. Holbert of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Sep 17 at 2:18 am.

Tanner James Leach, age 22, 205 Deerwalk Circle, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor.  Leach was arrested by Patrolman Bonnette of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Sep 17 at 9:18 am.

Tyler Edward Goodwin, age 19, 113 Mitchells Lane, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.  Goodwin was arrested by Deputy Schwendeman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Sep 17 at 2:15 pm.

Joshua Don Martin, age 37, 240 Hillcrest Drive, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.  Martin was arrested by Patrolman Wallace of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 17 at 12:13 pm.

Jennifer Dawn Science, age 44, 149 Sunset Drive, Marietta, on warrants for theft, obstructing official business, misdemeanors,  and 2 warrants for failure to appear, both felonies.  Science was arrested on Fourth Street by Patrolman Richards  of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Sep 17 at 8:58 pm.

Justin Page Hammaker, age 40, 39 Harvestmoon Park, Linden, PA, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.  Hammaker was arrested by Patrolman Wenzel of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Sep 17 at 12:47 am.

There are currently 22 females and 85 males incarcerated in the Washington County Jail.
