On 30 Aug 17 Deputy Hall began an investigation in Muskingum Township in reference to fraudulent charges being billed to a resident.  This case remains under investigation.

On 30 Aug 17 Richard E. Harvey, 1230 Mayle Ridge Road, Cutler, reported a tree stand and ladder removed from his property.  Deputy Hall began an investigation into this theft.

On 31 Aug 17 Captain Rhodes was following a vehicle near the intersection of Spence Road and State Route 339.  A check was conducted through dispatch finding the registration should appear on a 1996 Ford station wagon and not a 2001 Ford Mustang convertible.   Captain Rhodes knew the driver to be Bobbie Sue Davis.  Dispatch also advised Captain Rhodes that Davis had a suspended license.  A traffic stop was conducted and Davis advised she did not know her license was still suspended.  Davis further stated she had recently purchased the vehicle and was using the plates that were already on it until she could transfer the registration and obtain new plates.  Captain Rhodes advised Davis she needed to complete the process as soon as possible.    Bobbie S. Davis was issued a citation for driving under suspension.

On 31 Aug 17 Lt. Hunter  was dispatched to meet with members of the Beverly/Waterford Rescue Squad at Marietta Memorial Hospital in reference to a drunk and belligerent patient they had just transported.  Lt. Hunter was advised by members of the squad that they had been dispatched to the residence of Richard S. Coleman, 10801 State Route 676, Vincent.  According to squad members Coleman cussed and shouted profanities at them the entire time they were with him.  Coleman was told several times not to be belligerent to them, however continued to do so.  Coleman also became somewhat combative with the squad members to the point that only the male squad members were able to be near him in order to control him as he kept fighting them for no reason.  Lt. Hunter met with Coleman who appeared to be extremely intoxicated as he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on or about his person. Coleman was unable to remember anything Lt. Hunter told him and even admitted to having called for a squad because he was just drunk.  Squad members from both Barlow Squad and/or Beverly/Waterford have been to the Coleman residence more than 12 times for him because he was drunk and wanted to go to the hospital.   Richard Steven Coleman, age 52, was issued a summons for disorderly conduct by intoxication.  Coleman was advised of his court date and time to appear, however refused to sign for the citation.

On 31 Aug 17 Lt. Hunter and Deputy Hall were dispatched to 20 Charles Street, Newport.  Dispatch had received an anonymous call stating a male and female were in a heated argument outside of the aforementioned residence.  Deputies identified the male and female as Samantha J. Burns, and her boyfriend, James Lowers.   Through the course of the investigation, Burns admitted to having had a loud argument over some personal property the two share.  The male fled on foot prior to the arrival of deputies and could not be located for an interview.   Lt. Hunter is requesting summons be issued to Samantha Jean Burns, age 36, and James Justin Lowers, age 38, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

On 31 Aug 17 Teresa Murphy, 24 Hickory Drive, Little Hocking, reported her husband, Kodi Murphy, was at their residence.  Teresa reported she had an active temporary protection order against Kodi.  Shortly after Teresa called Kodi also called the sheriff’s office. Kodi requested to meet with an officer at the Par Mar in Little Hocking.  Deputy McKee met with Teresa who stated Kodi showed up to the residence requesting property and a car title.  Teresa stated she refused to provide him with the items, and he returned to his vehicle and spun the tires as he left. Teresa stated the protection order was issued through Meigs County, OH.  Teresa showed Deputy McKee the order, which he reviewed and it did in fact state Kodi was not to have any contact with Teresa, who was the protected party.  Deputy McKee met with Kodi who admitted he was aware of the protection order and had been served his copy.  A check was made to ensure the order was still in effect.  Kodi denied being at the residence.  Deputy McKee arrested Kodi James Lee Murphy, age 29, 50406 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom, OH, for violation of a protection order.

Felicia Dawn Wallace, age 27, 100 Water Street, Lowell, probation violation, original charge drug possession; 90 days county jail.

Nathan Perry Simmons, age 43, 3030 Lost Pavement Road, Parkersburg, WV, violation community control, original charge drug possession; 180 days county jail.

The following suspects were processed into the Washington County Jail between Thursday 31 Aug 17 and Friday 1 Sep 17:

Erica Theandra Kidder, age 24, 183 Riverside Drive, Parkersburg, WV, for receiving stolen property, cruelty to animals, and failure to appear, all misdemeanors.  Kidder was arrested by Patrolman Smith  of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 12:04 pm.

Zale Kenneth Reed, age 19, 317 Third Street, Beverly, for probation violation, a misdemeanor.  Reed was arrested by Probation Officer P. Brockmeier of the Marietta City Probation Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 12:37 pm.

Chelsea Rose Lancaster, age 25, 101 Montgomery Avenue, Marietta, for FRA suspension and failure to register, both misdemeanors.  Lancaster was arrested by Deputy Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 12:42 pm.

Anthony Eugene Jones, age 27, 2763 State Route 217, Scottown, OH, for parole violation.  Jones was arrested at the Oriana House by Adult Probation Officer Gault and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 2:14 pm.

Christopher W. Bowman, age 38, 272 Oak Drive, Gallipolis, OH, for parole violation, a felony.  Bowman was arrested at the Oriana House by Adult Probation Officer Gilchrist and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 2:16 pm.

Amy Suzzanne Books, age 31, 122 Harmar Street, Marietta, for disorderly conduct, intoxication.  Books was arrested at Flanders Field by Patrolman Richards  of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Aug 17 at 9:41 pm.

Kodi James Lee Murphy, age 29, 50406 Bigley Ridge Road, Long Bottom, OH, for violation of protection order, a misdemeanor.  Murphy was arrested at Par Mar in Little Hocking by Deputy McKee of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 17 at 12:50 am.

John Robert Ralston, age 47, homeless, for probation violation, a felony.  Ralston was arrested by Deputy McKee of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 17 at 1:46 am.

Brandon Gerrod Benson, age 33, 162 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for OVI, driving under suspension and no plates, all misdemeanors.  Benson was arrested on Pike Street by Trooper Knowlton  of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 17 at 3:23 am.

Ronald Hoard Husk, age 19, 285 Wilcoxen Road, Marietta, for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Husk was arrested in Bartlett by Deputy A. McConnell of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Sep 17 at 9:24 am.
