On 24 Aug 17 at approximately 4:35 am. Deputy Allender along with other Officers were dispatched to 28087 State Route 7, Guernsey Scrap Recycling, to a breaking and entering.  The owner was notified that subject(s) were on the property at the time. Officers located items to include a purple mountain bike, green military duffel bag, buckets with copper and brass scrap, and two catalytic converters.  A “Duck Dynasty” hoodie was located near the main gate.  These items were recovered and Officers cleared the scene after finding no one on the property.  In conducting a neighborhood canvas and speaking with employees, Officers learned of a subject that rides a bike in the area and lives in a trailer approximately ¾ of a mile away.  Officers were given a description, which was very similar to John D. Officers then met with John O’Brien who stated that he was at Guernsey Scrap “looking around”.  He was asked about loading scrap in buckets and he admitted to trying to take a little scrap.  John David O’Brien, Jr., age 35, 27335 State Route 7, Lot 1, Marietta, was placed under arrest for breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools, and theft.  O’Brien was transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.
