On 19 Aug 17 Melvyn Pierpoint, 225 Main Street, Macksburg, reported a firearm removed from his home. A juvenile suspect was located and charges of delinquency by theft are being filed in Washington County Juvenile Court. (131)
On 20 Aug 17 Deputies responded to 16531 State Route 339, Waterford. It was reported that Raymond E. Maffin, was assaulted by John Merriman. Officers arrived on scene and separated the two men. Raymond reported that he was talking with his daughter (Merriman’s girlfriend) and John did not like how Raymond was speaking to her. Raymond states he began to argue with John, in which John punched him in the mouth, knocking him into the furniture. Raymond was able to get up and defend himself by pushing John away. Raymond admitted to punching John in the side of the face to protect himself and did have a bloody and swollen lip. John was then asked about the events that took place. John stated he did not like the way Raymond was speaking with his girlfriend and confronted Raymond about it. John did not know who threw the first punch but admitted to striking Raymond. John Thomas Merriman, 5251 Raymar Drive, Albany, Ohio, was arrested for assault and transported to Washington County Jail. At the jail, John tested .111 on the portable breathalyzer. Raymond requested a temporary protection order against John. (415)
On 20 Aug 17 Kenneth R. Tilton, 730 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell, reported a starter off of a John Deere tractor was removed. This case remains under investigation. (415)
On 21 Aug 17 the Washington County Jail received a warrant from the Magistrate Court of Wood County, WV, for the arrest of Erica Nicole Henderson. Henderson had fled from Officers in Wood County, WV, and was apprehended in Washington County. Deputy Farrell compared the descriptors provided by Wood County, WV, and found they matched those given by Henderson during her booking process. Charges of fugitive from justice are being filed through Marietta Municipal Court on Henderson. A copy of the fugitive charges as well as the warrant out of West Virginia were served to Erica Nicole Henderson, age 23, 906 33rd Street, Vienna, WV. (995)

Bryce Michael Edwards, age 40, 1301 23rd Street, Parkersburg, WV, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, criminal trespass and obstructing justice, all misdemeanors. Edwards was arrested on Fort Street by Patrolman Kramer of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Aug 17 at 10:18 pm
Craig Odell Burkheimer, age 23, 802 Front Street, Marietta, for rape, a felony. Burkheimer was arrested at his residence by Deputy McKee of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 17 at 1:4 am.
Christina Marie Hower, age 32, 736 Utica Avenue, Akron, OH, for probation violation, a misdemeanor. Hower was arrested by Patrolman Wallace of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 17 at 9:30 am.
Rachael Nicole Wilson, age 27, 7641 Pike Street, Lot 14, Mineral Wells, WV, for contempt of court order, a felony. Wilson was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheaves of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 17 at 12:02 pm.
Jeremiah Jacob Lyons, age 35, 19 S. 6th Street, Parkersburg, WV, for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor. Lyons was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheaves of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Aug 17 at 1:41 pm.
