Deputy Allender was then advised that Wheeler had just driven by the home, in which he observed a vehicle matching the Ford Ranger pull into the Misty Blue bar, then return to the residence. Wheeler exited the vehicle and as he approached Deputy Allender a strong odor of an intoxicating beverage could be detected from his person. Deputy Allender advised Wheeler why he was there, stating that his wife had called concerned about the kids. Wheeler demanded Deputy Allender tell him his wife’s full name and when he was advised that Deputy Allender had not spoken with her, called Deputy Allender a liar. Wheeler eventually admitted to being in a shoving match with his son. The disagreement continued with Wheeler calling the kids belligerent names. Wheeler reportedly grabbed the child by the neck and face and pushed him around, head butting him and continually making threats towards the child. Deputies advised Wheeler he was under arrest and as he tried to handcuff Wheeler he stated words to the effect that if we stepped towards him he would take them all out. Deputies continued to place handcuffs on Wheeler with him resisting further, clinching his fist and pulling away from the Deputies.
